Did he come out of the Sarlacc flying a[nd] shooting? That would be cool.
😆
He remote called Slave-1
Launched a grapnel line to it's opening ramp. Fired up his Jet-Pack and torched the living **** out the Sarlacc on his way up to dignified freedom.

Oh wait, no, he crawled his way out like a bloated wet toad.

...Then got knocked out and robbed by a couple of Jawas! :lol

Boba didn’t kill the kid because the Tusken tribe would have hunted him across the desert (not to mention it’s not a good look for a series lead). I think the point is to have him win the tribe’s respect so that they teach him their ways (such as fighting with a gaffi stick) and become his allies. Anyway I won’t get concerned until episode 2 and won’t panic until episode 3.

"I'm having the dreams again."

"Oh?"

"Yeah, its a recurring nightmare that my escape from the Sarlacc was really, really, lame. I'm so glad that that's not what really happened..."

Such a missed opportunity to do something epic. The sarlaac escape should have been a high budget dramatic event like the Krayt Dragon episode from Mandalorian season two episode one. Instead we got Morrison as a gopher digging a hole to China. If going this boring route he could have at least cut through the Sarlacc side wall with the tools he carries in his pants rather than literally punching through flesh.

Apparently Rodriguez filmed 3 different versions of the Sarlacc Escape. Did you not see the other two in "extras"? There's a vote section to decide which will be canon, and each week they will change the episode with a different escape to see how viewers rate it.

Don't you wish I wasn't such a liar?

How long was he in there?

He looks like he's got one hell of a hangover. Like everyone left the party and just left him there covered in 💩.

It goes back to my point earlier. Morrison does have the ability to carry the show IF they write the show as such, but they didn’t. They knew who Morrison was when planning this show, yet they tried to make Morrison and Fett something they aren’t, talkative, personable, even kind?

Do we all really believe Morrison can’t carry this show if he was simply a version of the Mando Fett we saw? I mean if he shot that Rodian and drop kicked the little Tusken kid, or when that Twi’lek asked Fett for tribute and Fennec said “should I kill him,” Boba should have said “that won’t be necessary” and then shot him himself, or flew up with his jetpack and BBQed those assassins, we aren't having this conversation right now.

Everything about Morrison is perfect from his look to voice to demeanor if they played to those strengths. Fett isn’t charismatic or talkative, anyone cast as Fett should have been man of few words, actions does the talking, earns respect through his actions.
OK, maybe I was a bit harsh but as written in this episode Morrison was a bad fit for the character. If the writing and direction were better he probably would have been more believable but alas that wasn't the case. Hopefully things improve going forward. My only other comment on Morrison's ability to carry a show is that IF he was considered to be that good he probably would have landed a lead role before now.

IMO they should have picked up his crime lord reign after he'd gotten a few more underlings in his crew so he at least had an entourage of thugs to travel with rather than walking around town with his helmet off looking like anything but a leader. Perhaps they should have started with his sit-down with the lieutenants of Jabba's network rather than saving it for a subsequent episode?

From the looks of him he was in there long enough to eat ALL of the nachos and drink ALL of the beer. No wonder everyone left. :lol

In the pit, about 90sec from the start of his flash back, to pulling himself out.

Although he awakens in the pit, so he may have been napping there for years, after the humiliation of hitting his head on the hull of the Sail Barge. :wink1:

At this point they could insert the Robot Chicken Sarlacc scenes and people would take that as canon over BOBF.

Actually this being so bad it actually made the ST look even better now

:chase
NOTHING WILL MAKE THE ST BETTER.

Boy, what a tough room. Since Khev doesn't seem to be taking up the cause for the show, I guess I will....

I watched it again and it's still okay. It left me wanting to see more. RR and JF had a real tough task building a show around a character that has built up a mystique and a complete history long before they set out to make this show. Yes, that history is something that is basically cherry-picked from for elements or completely ignored, but within the family-friendly parameters of D+ and KFL, it's a tough line to walk and keep it interesting for everyone, especially hardcore fans.

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and consider that this show has an arc to it that will lead BF to the place we saw him at in The Mandalorian. We're not there yet, not after just one episode.

Will they go all "Picard" here and basically deconstruct the character until nothing that made him interesting or unique remains? I hope not. Yes, there was cringe in the episode...the actor playing the mayor's majordomo was easily among the worst choice...had this ***** even seen SW or know what a t'wlek is? He sounded like bad faceless sitcom fodder. Seeing the "Star Tours" droid at a dealer's table at Miss Kitty's place was another groaner. But the rest of the issues many folks have objected to like the tusken kid and BF's weakness I can let ride until I see where it leads. This is a serial, probably more so than Mando has been.

I get it. We all have expectations from SW, especially with something as revered as Fett is. And yes, the Diz/KFL regime has definitely had MANY bad turns.

I'll stick with it for now, but I stick with my assertion that I made several pages back that we may have seen the best SW this current regime had to offer with the first two seasons of Mando. It may end up getting all Marvelized and unwatchable for here on out. We'll see...

I'll certainly allow for things to get better going forward but with regard to your point above a good part of this episode took place *after* his appearance in Mando so they've already given him a massive regression since then.

Sure it wasn’t the best episode of Star Wars ever, but I was happy enough with it. So far it’s delivered everything promised by the trailers and then some. I did find switching up where some of the lines from the trailer came from is interesting. He might not be so friendly to Jabba’s lieutenants next episode as the trailer portrayed. I’m thinking that ‘Grogu hook’ will come next week. This did feel like part 1 of a 2 part season opener.

Crazy week for me.....first of all, I actually LOVED the Matrix sequel which is universally despised, and next I actually enjoyed the BoBF pilot.

I didn't love it the way I loved Mando, but it was exactly what I thought it would be: FUN. It's just fun guys...remember playing with your figures outside, not needing plastic playsets cause the grass and mud and sand or snow were already there for you to play in?

When I first saw "Mandalorian" I was beside myself cause I thought "This is a TV show that basically shows what was going on in my imagination as I played with my figures."

I get the same vibe from this. There's just a few more nitpicks...Boba being noticeabley fatter as he crawled in the desert.

And why in the name of all that's holy didn't he just activate his jet pack when he was surrounded by all those dudes like that???

Everything else I can live with. Of course he's not gonna slaughter a Tusken "youngling"....all that's gonna do is bring the entire clan down on him, and he's weak and weaponless. He was still using strategy and thinking ahead and not just killing for the sake of killing.

Also, I mentioned this before, but nobody seems to have any answers......when he digs his way out and we see the Barge wreckage, there's a very clearly dead Sarlacc tentacle just laying there lifeless. Was the Sarlacc dead?? Probably a lot easier to push your way out of its guts if it's dead. But WHY is it dead?

I doubt we'll get any answers cause the show seemed to have moved past that, but I wish they'd been more clear.

Like Boba's scarred bald head. Was that caused by the Sarlacc or was that something that happened to him before? Cause his helmet was quite intact down there.

Meh...I liked it. Sure it had some **** lines...as do ALL SW before this. This is not high-brow Sci-fi (why I like Trek) this is space fantasy. Fan service...check Poor dialogue...check Annoying brat...check Mutant Ninja type Hand henchmen getting punked...check

Jennifer Beals...check mate...I'm a maniac on the dance floor!

I think Fett is better as a side character. The episode didn't capture me like the first episode of the Mandalorian.

Parkour chase felt out of place. Michael Scott and Dwight's voices were in my head shouting "parkour!" during that scene. Looking at the storyboards during the end credits, it seems they planned for TM to be shirtless during the duration of captivity but I guess he couldn't lose the gut in time as envisioned from the art.
