Yes pretty much. I remember reading a little bit of it and it was disgusting. He made another comic where people had X marks on there face or something and it was literally nothing but gore, Ssexual assault, and grotesque violence. Literally no story. Absolutely disgusting.

Oh, so just like the show current season
No, significantly worse than anything in this season.

It’s really, really bad imo. It’s like it’s written by a child at the start of puberty trying to cope with all of his new hormones.

The worst thing I saw in it was MM’s wife and daughter (who is still a minor, but her power makes her age up) doing mother daughter adult videos together with some Supe.

The show has messed up stuff too. Supe orgy, tiny man inside normal sized mans dongle etc. All of it is disgustingly distasteful. That scene in comic sounds worse of daughter is minor but in terms of how over the top, gross, infantile messed up things are the show is the same, especially the latest season where it is gratuitous and gory for the sake of gratuitousness and gore.

Sorry but there’s messed up and then there’s skirting the lines of child ****ography.

There’s nothing in the comic that is a redeeming factor. It’s all like that. The show at least has substance to it.

You obviously did not read my response as I said that scene sounds worse but the point I went on to make is that the actual show is not much better, it is twisted and gross. In early seasons there was substance to it but hard disagree regarding latest season. It seems gratuitous for the sake of it. The new season has little substance to it. It has barely progressed the plot, content to spin wheels and attempt to constantly one up the shock factor. It is exactly what you accuse the comic of being in that way.

The show isn’t the same at all, trust me, or go read it for yourself. I doubt you could make it through the whole thing.

The show, even season 4, had heart, substance and emotional beats. Let’s stop pretending that season 4 is absolutely terrible just because it’s maybe not “as good” as previous seasons.

It’s still good.

It has felt a bit drug out. Honestly, after getting Homelander right where they wanted him last season, it’s felt like they’re holding out killing him to keep the series going. The final season announced was the best thing for the show because if they had to stall through another season it would get old fast. I’d almost rather them pivot, kill all the Boys, and have a Homelander show. He’s an interesting character to watch and a total train wreck but by far the most captivating character on the show. He’s not all bad but far from the glorious hero he’s supposed to be.

As we saw this season, he didn’t have the greatest upbringing. Clearly that’s lead to him being what he is. In his own messed up way he’s trying to do right by Ryan. Of course he’s slowly corrupting him but he’s trying on some level. And of course there’s a part that’s just wanting to keep something from Butcher. Homelander doesn’t really know what he wants and that’s part of his problem. He enjoys being better than everyone but really wants to be like everybody else and accepted. Not being able to have both is driving him crazy.

I’m not saying he’s a good guy by any stretch of the imagination but he’s not 100% pure evil. He knows right from wrong and how to play the game. We see him show “mercy” or “kindness” from time to time between the times he makes people jump off the roof or eat their octopus friends. Not ever knowing which way he’ll swing in any given situation is what makes him interesting. Having a villain without any kind of goodness in them can make them boring or two dimensional. Homeland is complex and flawed, making him particularly captivating to watch.

I would love the idea of a homelander tv show
but I doubt it. I seriously doubt it
the creator of the show already hates that people love homelander. he's already said how upset that made him. specially when homelander is supposed to represent some real life counterparts...
giving a show would just make people love him even more. I couldn't imagine the show runners being happy with that ( even if he goes full evil in that new show)
actually I know what he meant
homelander could be killing everyone in sight. like Zod.
homelander could be destroying entire cities. just for fun. destroying entire countries. hurting everyone that doesn't like him. take out all his haters.
he shows extreme restraint. still wants to be a hero. still wants to be liked. still follows some modesty. still wants to be a leader. love his young son.
I can see that

He doesn’t care about being a hero. He wants “respect” but he doesn’t care to earn it.

He brutally murders people just for somewhat upsetting him.

He doesn’t really care about his son, he thinks he does but he doesn’t, the moment Ryan stops doing what he’s told he’ll show his true colours to him.

he has anger issues of course, but in a bizarre and twisted way, deep down, he cares

Yea the comic book is absolutly terrible and everything that could happen happens.

The best part was the closing scenes. Altogether, a very uneven season.

Will watch season 5 but I'll be happy when it's over.

Seasons 1 and 3 are still the best. Happy Soldier Boy is back.
