Until Soldier Boy gets confirmed as a rapist I still think Homelander is the bigger piece of ****. Sure Soldier Boy was a bully but it also seemed like the innocents he killed were on accident. Neglegence is bad but not as bad as the intentional **** and muder that Homelander commits.
Agreed. Soldier Boy is a sadist, and a self-absorbed narcissist, to be sure, but Homelander is a complete sociopath. Soldier Boy doesn't shed a tear if an innocent person dies, and happily kills those who did him wrong, but Homelander takes glee in killing innocents. Almost no one in this show is a "good person," but if you are putting them on a spectrum, Homelander is likely the worst they've shown in my opinion. In the end, he did act "selflessly" to try to save his son, but wanting your offspring to survive is a pretty low bar for goodness. Don't forget that not long before he was trying to harvest Maeve's eggs before killing her. Soldier Boy didn't do anything like that. In fact, he was willing to kill his own blood to rid the world of someone truly awful. In a sense, that is a heroic act. Butcher was acting pretty selfishly to save the young kid, even though it meant allowing Homelander to live and to potentially threaten the whole world, and certainly kill, possibly thousands more later on.

As a whole, the show is entertaining but I can definitely do without it mirroring US current events. Sure tackle whatever relevant social issues but don't just copy paste the actual shenanigans. I know it's parody and meant to be comedic in a sense but I'm just not into them. They're vomit inducing in real life as it is. That's just me.
I'm with you. In the comedy world, shows like Monty Python and Mr. Show were able to provide great satirical humor about modern life, politics, etc., but they weren't beating you over the head with it where character X is supposed to be the current political leader, and they are just directly ridiculing him left and right for specific things he said. Saturday Night Live instead mocks Trump directly all the time, and his Attorney General, kids, other senators, etc., using what's in the news today, and the comedy just isn't as good as a result. It's lazier, and has a lot less staying power. I think the same applies here.

This show is riveting but I'm really getting turned off by the lewdness and vulgarity that IMO has even crossed into ****ographic territory on multiple occasions now. Seasons 1 and 2 gave me the impression that this would be wrapped up pretty quickly with regard to Butcher and Homelander coming head to head but now I have the impression that they're just gonna string this out for years on end, having the illusion of a grand finale at the end of each season but where no one significant actually dies only to do it all over again the next season.

Which could be fine in and of itself if it weren't for all the disgusting ****ographic crap. So I might just hold off for however many years until someone spoils that Homelander finally dies and then just tune in to watch that.

The "****ographic crap" adds to the authenticity for me, you know for a fact that superheroes would use their powers for some freaky *** stuff.

If you can handle people getting their faces torn off and their guts ripped out then you can handle some nudity :lol.

This goes way beyond "some nudity."
A ***** is worse than this?

I guess you and I have a very different understanding of "****ographic" Khev :lol
Some nudity and inferred freakiness doesn't count as ****ography for me... :dunno
But, back to the series, as far as I'm concerned, it's one of the best series on right now, and the best satire on modern society and the superhero genre. It's simply brilliant how they can make fun of the entire "woke" and cancel culture, and also make fun of "extreme" right. Effing genius if you ask me.

And I also want Homelander to win in the end! That would be the most satisfying end to the series.

Honestly this is one of my favourite shows of all time.

I always root for the outcome you don't expect which would include Homelander coming out on top. Normally shows don't have the balls to go that route but if there is one that does, it's this one.

The fact that NECA only showed the original 3 figures at SDCC tells me that they are done with this license. What a waste.

Personally, I enjoy this show despite the over the top insanity of the violence, gore, and ***, not because of it. But it is in the spirit of the show to revel in all that stuff, and to be unflinching with all of it. And it's fine, but when I see a guy explode or have his face ripped off, or see a pretty graphic orgy scene, it's stuff I could get without having to see all the details. In other words, I personally think the personalities, situations, and conflicts are interesting enough without seeing all that, but I think it's Seth Rogan's sensibility, and suspect some of the younger audiences in particular get off on the pure visceral extremism of the show. You could argue that it's part of the satire, and like Robocop or A History of Violence, is a commentary on violence and *** in the media in general, but I don't give this show quite that much credit to be honest. They are doing it for the shock value, and to keep eyeballs on the screen. Without the violence and *** it may not have the popularity that it does.

Well it is part of the shows identitiy, if you start taking things away it's no longer the same show. Would The Mandalorian be as popular without Grogu?

I agree with you. And I think it's the right move for the purpose of building up interest and hype. But not exactly my cup of tea. I just got finished watching Midnight Mass on Netflix, and feel the violence and gore there was serving a larger purpose of setting the tone and telling the story, for example. Even if it happened in the Boys, but were more infrequent I think it would have more storytelling impact. For example, the rooftop scene with Starlight's ex-boyfriend could have been really impactful, but instead felt more like one more instance of excessive and shocking extremism. You can expect a few instances of that in nearly every episode.
