were the hell did all those monsters come from lol and how the hell did they get them in there own display case cubes lol.

Actually yes. I told this to Jenn, same stuff. I was like, okay..the guy with the puzzle reminded me of Pinehead. And yada yada. The film also had a VERY 13 ghosts feel to it. Have you seen 13 Ghosts? If you even look at it when SW cameos. She reminds me of the girl in 13 Ghosts who names off the ghosts in the end, as does SW with each of the 5 sacrifices. And then with all of the cubes moving around, showing the creatures it reminded me of the glass rooms holding the ghosts. Also a lot of the mechanics in Cabin reminded me of the mechanisms in the house in 13 ghosts as well.

I thought of that movie right before I read your post:)

I think the book was published in the early 2000s, though. :dunno

I tend to think it was just a random name for shiggles. But it is weird that we've already identified two possible Kevins.

I found another pic of the whiteboard that shows the right side a little better. Don't remember seeing the Snowman in action.

For the people saying this was stealing from other horror movies--
You're missing the point.

This isn't really a horror movie as it is about horror movies.

I was sad to see Amy Acker die :(

I don't think I have seen anybody say it has stolen from anything, some of us are just pointing out it's not an original concept, I think the debate is if Cabin in the woods does a good job of poking fun at itself and the horror genre. I personally think it does a pretty good job for most of the movie, I just feel that other films have done it better. Scream the first (And the only good one IMO) managed to poke fun at slasher movies and managed to be a good horror. Shaun of the Dead actually started to become more of horror film rather than a comedy right near the end of the film. I actually thought Cabin in the woods was doing a good job of being scary, my wife was grabbing my arm when Hemsworth and his girlfriend were attacked, and a few girls behind me were freaked out, but at the end when it became OTT, my wife looked at me and said "That ending was rubbish?" I could tell a few others felt the same.

Thought it was very meh until the monsters got loose. Then it got better but very end was meh.

6/10

When that happened, I said out loud.
Dang you Joss, you killed Fred again!!!

Saw it last night and I absolutely LOVED it. Sure it "ripped" off other horror films, but that was the point. I think it was more of a parody of horror films then an actual horror film itself. That being said, I had a blast with it and my GF (who hates horror films) had a blast with it as well. Definitely a Bluray buy when it comes out.

the hand at the end was hilarious
