The Chris Howes GHOSTBUSTERS commissions

Right now I am very confident that Chris will deliver soon or later as I had a very good conversation via email with him. Though we were not talking about the GB commission but about his commissions in general he was really able to convince me that he will finish his projects. Yes, there are problems in communication and he might have agreed to too many commissions but we should really give him a chance to finish this wonderful project. Looking at his Blues Brothers 2000 heads I really think that this commission will be one the best Chris did so far. He really is the sculptor for comedy expressions (eg BB2K and his ducks). To be honest I really do not want any other sculptor for this project and wouldnt even mind to wait until the end of this year. But this might be only me. I really do not want a second fail as we had with Ada's Bill. Again I cann only suggest to wait for some time, relax a bit, ignore all these childish acts by some fellow Freaks (/newbs to the custom section) and just wait for the update. It wont hurt anyone to wait a few more weeks.

I don't quite recognize the faces... oh wait I don't think I ever saw that film. John Goodman on the right, surely thats not Dan Aykroyd on the left?... doesn't look like him, the hairstyle is throwing me off. I wasn't aware Dan was thin in 1998. I think that was the reason why I missed out on Blues Brothers 2000, I was never fond of Goodman.

I feel the same way, bro. We wouldn't have come to him if we didn't think he was THE man to do the job. But what are your impressions about how many of the sculpts he actually sees himself completing?

He told me he is going to complete all the sculpts he agreed to. Of course this cannot happen within a week. But he also mentioned several times that he has worked on some... So the waiting might not be that long.

I think that's great that he's telling a smattering of people that he's going to finish all the commissions for which he's been paid, but he needs to tell ALL of us. I deserve a first-person update, not have to rely on the occasional "Chris told me this..." tidbit from sources other than, well, the source. And no offense intended to anyone who is just trying to provide us info, the issue is the updates should come from Chris, period, because libraries have computers, friends have computers, and from what I understand he can email out, right?

I'm not mad at Chris, just a little disappointed and a bit thrown off by what seems to be Bizarre Excuse Syndrome... He doesn't know someone with a computer that he can borrow and send out an email to his customer base? Really? 'Cuz I'd be scrambling for that if it were me. But I care what people think of my work ethic, so...

Summed up you can say that he told us that he will deliver, be not that much online for the next weeks because of working and when everything is finished he will quit the board. This was pretty clear. I assume he has lost interest in the board because of this big wave against him and he will likely comeback for updates only. This is summed up information from Chris. Just read his last 5 posts. Forget about all the anger that was put in the and try to concentrate on the information. Good the thread is closed now.

BTW: I wouldnt repeat to any of these "Hey ^^^^^^ wheres my stuff"-emails, nor I would repeat to any guys who keep on posting against me. Everybody should just relax and post in a normal way just as Migwit did.

Chris never said he was absolutely sure he was leaving the board. You are assuming quite a bit in your statements above. Chris is choosing not to speak on the boards. You are only going to create more problems by speaking for him without his permission.

Your link doesn't work. I just think you are making stuff up, for what reason I have no idea. Since Chris is choosing not to comment on the situation, I don't think you should comment about what he will or won't do.

You said he was leaving the board, for sure. He never said that. Comment about him if you feel like it, but you don't have anymore insight into the situation than the rest of us. I am very relaxed.

Ok, maybe I interpretated a little too much in it. Nevertheless I think everything was quite clear. But I am not speaking for Chris in any way. I am just against this whole childish "anti-Chris" conversation.

Im done with this conversation. I think I made my point clear. Whoever wants to wait for an update feel free to join me in the waiting. Whoever wants another sculptor, feel free to open a new thread but please be so kind to open another one to keep things seperated.

You know what's really sad? Those same people who called us childish or impatient a couple of weeks ago are now starting to wonder where the product is at. Give it another month, and you might be asking the same thing, and regretting you ever called us childish. I am not angry, I have already made up my mind about Chris. I think the rest of the board is starting to decide what they think about the situation now.

We are just trying to get Chris to commit to updates and stick to them. Chris is not posting verbal updates, photographic updates, or shipping product as promised. The longer he is silent, the more people realize what is going on.

I do not blame anyone for what they did. I saw that thread comming too. Nevertheless now that everybody was screaming at each other it is now the time for waiting. This ongoing complaining is the childish act. From my point of view everything is clear: Complaints were totally allright (though I wouldnt agree with the way they were given as we lost a very friendly fellow freak), Chris replied, maybe not very kind but hey, hes just a human being as we all are and at least he told us that we will get som updates. Thats where we stand. I doesnt make any sence to count the days without updates. There are several guys that have a very good contact to Chris so he doesnt disappear. I dont care if it takes a month or two more.
And correct me if I am wrong but people on the House thread told you the same. It is childish.

Then 2 months turn into 4 then into 8 then into 12 etc.....I and a couple others that have contacted me have been waiting since May of last year, thats almost 14 months with promises (just like the unpainted House heads) that the stuff would be done very soon and shipped.

He even went so far as to tell me that the stuff had been shipped only to have nothing arrive. You can wait and listen to more of his lies, I for one am tired of waiting and want a refund.

Dont believe me, his own words speak for themself, the unpainted House heads were supposedly shipped 2 weeks ago and to date only one person has received anything.

So your saying he is receiving emails but chooses to only answer certain ones which means the "Russian Spammers" story is just another lie?

Many people have posted that they have sent him emails with simple subject lines as he requested and they get no reply....

I think his actions and words tell the whole story, some people either cant or refuse to see the forest through the trees......

And IF he decides to not answer all people (I never said so) I could totally understand it. I wouldnt do neither. Peoples behaviour over here shows it is senceless as they do not want to calm down (I say something is comming, you say ^^^^^ off). You should ask yourself the question if you would reply to a guy who is writing negative things about you. I am sure Chris is working his ass off to part with SSF on good terms.

Really? I’ve only been doing this seriously for about three and a half years now, I don’t really buy anything from other customizers so I didn’t know this was the norm, but I would never keep some one waiting over a year for a simple unpainted head sculpt. It only takes me about a three weeks or less to do a complete figure.
