I was hoping for more enviornment, the price is nice though. Not for me.

No interest at all.

A bigger base would make it a lot more interesting. Oh well.

Still undecided. But at that price, it's hard to pass up. But the whole thing is only 6" tall. You'd think with the smaller characters it would've been a different scale.

I'll admit it though, Dusty was right about the price.

Yeah, this thing is tiny. I will only get into this line if they make lots of items, otherwise they will not fit in with other stuff in my collection, because of the lack of size.

The size is very interesting. The small size really opens up the possibility of the entire Fellowship walking in a line or even having the entire Council of Elrond scene in one piece....mmmm....I need to ponder this a little more...

I'm curious to see how well these tiny pieces survive the production paint process.

That's another very valid point. We've seen issues with 1/6 scale, can the production be up to the task on this scale?

I ordered just to cover myself in case I change my mind but personally I don't think this is for me. Six inches high, that's tiny.

What I said before about the likeness and waiting to see full pictures. OMG!! Trev, that's a freaking awesome likeness to Elijah. Dare I say, BEST EVER! And in such a tiny scale. You sir deserve some :bow :bow :bow :bow :rock

Wow, really impressed with the paint application on this prototype...hats off to the amazing Sideshow team.

It was a real pleasure to get to sculpt this piece, and how cool to see such a NICE outcome.

And thanks for the kudos on the Elijah likeness! he's a tough one, allright!
Trev

It's certainly a huge accomplishment to create such likeness in so little space. Trev, you're a prodigy, sir.

I'm not getting this for all the reasons stated before, but there's one other thing that I'm worried about now: The lack of a significant environment. I really thought the diorama line would dare to go there. Now, it seems a given that it will be focused squarely on characters, and that's sad.

Oh well, bring on whatever's next. The newsletter promises ONE more LOTR piece for TF... I can already feel my wallet bleeding. :p

Once again, superb job on the sculpting Trev! I'm even more impressed by the large clear images, and for something that is apparently very small, that is saying a lot. Order is IN! I too, share the same fears about production paint apps, but we can only wait now.

I was also hoping for a more involved/larger base as well, to me that is one of the unique draws of the 'diorama' concept (see: Marvel VS. line) But with the price way lower than what I thought it'd be, I guess I can live with the compromise :rock

BTW...nobody has mentioned that the newsletter stated another LOTR item would be displayed at Toy Fair. I'm getting the feeling it isn't a PF :monkey2

Looks great, but I thought we were going to be blown away from the detailed environment, in which there is none. I was hoping to see Sam in there.

However its a nice sculpt, would rather see the scale at 1/6 so I can display it with the SSW statues.

.... Why not?

I'm in the same boat as you in a way because I'm hoping it's another dio, but I'm getting the feeling it isn't either :monkey4
