Re: Cocoboloboy's Crazy Customs

Yeah, the black hair was one of the things that made him look off.:monkey4
I actually did do a full repaint on mine, hair, eyes and face. I can't stand the doll dot that SS puts on the eye. As you can see the gloss coat on the eye gives a natural reflection so the dot isn't needed.

Oh yes, I could tell you did a full repaint. I was just saying that I thought the hair color makes a big difference in helping out the likeness.

Glad you could tell. After I finished him I didn't know if I made much of a difference for my trouble.:lol

Re: Cocoboloboy's Crazy Customs

I have to agree with you guys. The head sculpt is actually pretty good... much better than people give it credit for. Just repainting the hair and eyebrows brings out the likeness even more.

That is what I say about a lot of headsculpts.
Why is it that so many production paints just make any head look less like who they are supposed to be!??? :dunno
Anyway, go for it guys! :rock
Great stuff Coco!

Re: Cocoboloboy's Crazy Customs

Hey Coco, I hope it's okay that I post these here, it seems on topic and I didnt want to start a whole new thread.
I made a mold of the Bespin Han a few days ago. Just for fun I sanded down the cheeks and squared up the jaw a little. It is a really rough resculpt (if you even want to call it that) but you kind of get the idea of what the head looks like with slighlty less round cheeks. If I could repaint heads a little better, the likeness may be brought out more.

Re: Cocoboloboy's Crazy Customs

Making a cast of this head is just a matter of buying the mold making materials to make a mold. This head is pretty rough though. Im sure if I put a little more time into it, a more decent head sculpt could be produced. Im not a sculptor I must add. I just wanted to demonstrate what COULD be created with the Han Bespin head. I can make some more casts if you want to modify one...

Re: Cocoboloboy's Crazy Customs

I'm gonna have to look into the mold making process. I'd love to be able to modify some of SSC's hands into different positions like a force right hand and things like that and then make casts of it. I've even heard of different materials that will shrink after it's cast. That would come in handy too.
Thanks for the head sculpt offer! I may take you up on that later. I'm afraid I'd just end up messing it up right now.:D:eek:

Re: Cocoboloboy's Crazy Customs

I think Kanamit's (sp?) hands are vaguely Force-like. Check them out...

Yeah they do. Wouldn't be too bad for a right force for someone.

I sure wish SS would produce packets of hands in different poses.

Re: Cocoboloboy's Crazy Customs

Nice repaint of Anakin looks a less "Toy like" now. Great job!

Re: Cocoboloboy's Crazy Customs

Anakin looks 100x better!! Very natural looking skin tone.

Re: Cocoboloboy's Crazy Customs

Wow, outstanding work on both Bespin Luke and Anakin there Adam! Your Bespin Luke looks more like actor Mark Hamill now. His likeness seems to have always been VERY hard to capture in figure form for some strange reason! Your Anakin looks much better too. More like Hayden Christensen and less like a plastic toy. I hope to repaint those two guys when I get them someday. Great work my friend! :D

Re: Cocoboloboy's Crazy Customs

Just looked at your custom painting!! Really nice!

Re: Cocoboloboy's Crazy Customs

Custom Jabba Steps.

Made from solid wood pieces then textured with wood putty to match the throne.

Painted with Craft Cote paint.

Then dirtied with black glaze and a clear finish applied.

Installed.

Re: Cocoboloboy's Crazy Customs

Lovin' all your latest! Your Luke looks dynamite, (Hadn't painted mine yet at all, so great to see your's!) as well as your Ani. Super work on both.

And terrific tie in on the steps. Excellent work and it helps to see Bib up there where he belongs.
SUPER STUFF!
