What other companies do you think can take up Hot Toy's mantle?

Blitzway or Enterbay? If they ever release the movie licenses, I hope Sideshow doesn't get it.
Judging from their AC figures, I'd be okay with Dam Toys getting the DC license. I'd love a new Routh Superman and Hot Toys sure won't make another. A full Watchmen line up would be awesome too. So many great figures that could be made if a company that actually valued the license had it.

Of course, the cost for DC might be beyond what Dam can afford.

I have Dam Toys Altair and the figure only works because the hood covers the seriously underbaked likeness.

The only serious contender to HT is Blitzway.

If they do, it might take them a while to come up with a material that's on par with Hot Toy's bodysuits. Not a lot of companies can offer the same quality as they do tho.

Blitzway is amazing.

I love their Hunter series, their Ghostbusters will be my holy grail if I wasn't broke as **** back then. :lol

I’d love to see Blitzway get the Batman Returns license.

Enterbay already nailed Baleman on their first attempt, compared to Hot Toys still not nailing him after about eight tries now. I’m not sure if they’ve worked out their QC issues but I’d like to see them make a comeback. I always feel a little sad going to their Facebook page and seeing nothing but NBA figures. :lol

I agree, I always thought Enterbay nailed Batman aside from the belt. Joker was pretty great at the time as well and even with the slightly elongated head, I think it’s better the HT Joker. I would love Enterbay to focus on DC the way they do for NBA, just like Asmus has really focused on LOTR. My problem with Enterbay has always been their QC and their bodies. I don’t know how their NBA bodies hold up but their old bodies weren’t that great IMO.

I like Blitzway but I don’t want them for the DC license. I think a lot of ppl want Blitzway solely b/c of KA Kim being their top sculptor. That doesn’t mean she’s going to sculpt every single DC character. She could but I’d bet they’d save her for what’s considered “top” characters. And the sculpts she doesn’t do folks seem to bash like recent Zorro which I think looks great but lots of folks say it doesn’t look like Banderas :dunno:

Man...I remember those days. Took them a LOOOOOONG time to get a decent "The Dark Knight" Suit Batman. I lost track of which one eventually was their "winner"...I think it was the DX02 or the DX12 or something like that. I sold them all. Batffleck is my Batman.

I remember the weird oily leak issue with the first TDK on the suit. That was such a weird QC issue...

Oil leak was on the first batch of DX02 with the rubber abs. Second batches had hard plastic abs to avoid whatever reaction was happening with the rubber at the abs. The MMS TDK Suit Batman has the beer belly issue as well as the rubber drying out real bad if I remember correctly. However, I will say there was something special about those early releases. They needed some work but the TDK and POTC licenses are when HT really started to up their game. With the MMS TDK suit, you could get him to look really good if you swapped him to a narrow body and changed the cape. I still like that figure for some reason even if it’s not accurate

The early BB/TDK hype was great to be a part of. That first Bank Robber Joker, MMS67, TDK Batman, DX01, DX02, the Batpod, The Tumbler. Alas the OCD customs, 82 different Joker sculpts and ridiculous pricing soon kicked in and soured it all. Not that I can't identify with a certain level of OCD but it actively pissed me off that relative newbs on the scene like Bale and Ledger were suddenly deemed to be so important that nothing less than 99% was acceptable in terms of likeness while a veteran icon like Schwarzenegger was getting sculpts like DX10 and MMS238 and no one cared to correct those mediocrities. ''Who will I sculpt next?'' Why even ****ing ask, of course the answer will be Ledger - for the people that 'missed out' on the last 27 sculpts.

I'm not bitter.

Anywho, The Batpod would still be kinda cool to have I think. Sold that years back but it seems to have stood the test of time as a popular Batman vehicle.

Yeah I'm not into vehicles, because they take up too much space, but I kind of regret not having the Batpod. It might just have been small enough to be worth it.

I was almost going to pick up a Bat-Pod years ago, but honestly if I were to get one Hot Toys vehicle I'd rather save my money and wait to find one of the 1989 Batmobiles. My local comic shop got one in for a decent price a few weeks back but it was gone by the time I got there.

Are you in Cincinnati captain clown? I have both the 89 batmobile and the bat-pod I'd consider selling. Only looking for local sales though.

Nah, I’m in Michigan. I’m curious how much you’d be looking at for it though? I might consider driving out. :lol

Thinking $900. It complete, art box and shipper but has a scratch on the door alot of them had from shipping.

That's a pretty good price. I'll have to think about it. Thank you for the offer!

Nah, I don't know what that is.

Also, does anyone think this answer could be interpreted as Hot Toys simply not having any plans to make Catwoman and Penguin?

I'm wondering if we played ourselves. This was from 2014. One of the interviews was an April Fool's thing, but I can't remember which.
