He posts stuff regularly but I haven't seem him do anything that gets produced by a company since Enterbay years ago. Those sculpts are insane. But all we get are endless men in iron suits.

I?ve bought some iron suits myself.

Hot Toys has a large base for those suits.

A segment of that base wants different things, but will buy the iron suits anyway.

If that segment stops buying out of boredom (I have) it won?t dent the massive base.

So who?s more to blame? A market that doesn?t care about the tastes and interests of an aging segment or Hot Toys for not taking risks on that segment?

Here's the thing about action figures: more characters and more content equals more figures. A constant stream of new material and new characters (like in Power Rangers or Transformers) drives collectors to grow their collections, even if not every character is a Batman-level seller.

Marvel is the biggest franchise in the world right now for this sort of growth: there's new content and new characters every year. It's perfect for a toyline. That's why Marvel Legends is pushing DC off the shelves and why the MCU is pushing DC out of 1/6.

Think about the line potential of DC right now: neither movie series that ended twenty years ago, nor the half-baked and mostly-failed DC film slate can match the line potential of Marvel. DC needs more content, more consisterly, with more characters that in order to compete. There are lots of unmade figures, sure, and those figures might even sell well individually, but the potential for growth just isn't there right now.

So whats to be done about it? Personally, I think it would be smart to release the Forever figures (which I will not buy) and Returns figures just to keep your legacy customers happy. A bigger opportunity would be exploiting the Arkham line to make all the alternate costumes in those games--just like we see with Spider-Man. The fact that this hasn't happened is puzzling, but that line still seems to be alive so maube that will change.

Barring that, yeah, the best hope is for licenses to go to Blitzway as they are the only company that can (maybe) match HT's quality. They probably don't have the scale to tackle something like the MCU, but maybe they could find a niche focusing on DC or classic properties. Still, that's a risk. Competition is crucial, but there's a reason HT is the industry leader. When you drop a license on, say, Threezero, you KNOW you're going to get an inferior product to what HT would have produced.

In the mean time, well, hopefully The Batman is good, because I'm sure that will land us a figure or two. And if this Keaton thing shakes out, well, we'll probably see some figures there, too.

Not sure why I'm being hopeful, but why do I have a feeling that a Joker with this sculpt (wet hair) is going to be announced. :lol

I think they're going to 1/6 Logan, and Cable, and release Robin and Batman. And show Phoenix Joker DX, and Penguin. Quote me. Hype trainnnnnnn!

I think they?re going to show us our folly and release mockery.

My hype train has already departed. To be fair they just need to show a stellar looking Wonder Woman, a Phoenix Joker or a Logan for me and I'll be over the moon.

If not the hype train does actually stop at the blitzway x Prime 1 Joker statue.

To be fair this is the christmas/E3 type of hype and excitement I have at the build up - more often than not there's always disappointment, but also more often than not there's always some really nice surprises.

Choo choo, guys.

I think you've said the same thing in 5 threads :rotfl

I'm going after Zurdo's excitement level at anything Captain Marvel, that's the goal to reach. :panic::rotfl

Also considering E3 isn't happening this year this is now getting all of my excitement. DC is my preference, but anything new and cool shown is exciting - Pennywise last year was a great show, seeing all of the Suicide Squad luneup back in 2016 or 17 was really cool.

I don't know how others aren't as excited. I get the disappointment in really wanting one thing in particular, but that's sort of a personal fault people have. Don't place all of your excitement eggs in one basket.

I think we're probably going to see:

- Batman Forever figures, again
- Wonder Woman figures (and this might not happen because the film was delayed)
- Disney figures

And that's all, folks. Maybe a single new Arkham figure. This is basically how the show shook out last year, and nothing has really changed since then.

I'm not hyped because I let myself get excited by those ****ing Forever figures last year and they're still not up for preorder.

And no way is Ledger the same as another Iron Man!

Let me hype you back up.

The show in Shanghai that opened up just yesterday have those Forever figures on display again. They'll be announced for pre-order for sure.

I said it before but think about it. Hot Toys have caught up with Marvel. Their Endgame line has been announced and placed on pre-order fully. Mantis and Valkyrie are in the same positions as the Returns figures. Black Widow and Eternals are too far into the future for them to probably show anything. Star Wars will probably have some leftovers form last year, Padme, Jango, Luke 2.0 and probably one or two new ones shown, that leaves some new licenses and DC to be shown, otherwise they don't really have much new to appear.

Makes perfect sense for things like Cable, Logan, Phoenix Joker etc. to appear.

I doubt it. They're still probably more likely to delve into the MCU back catalogue than branch out. The pace of MCU movies was relentless up until Spiderman Far From Home. There's going to be tonnes of characters/'versions' of characters from those waiting to get their firsts and many more besides that'll be on their 2.0, 3.0 and beyond. The gap up until Black Widow and the next phase? Catchup time for the MCU. So I see no reason to think it'll be anything other than business as usual.

I agree that this is very likely.
