I actually think retailers stopped selling them, after Wave 1. Sucks, I know.

That and there seems a surprising ammount of 2nd market buy ups too. Toys in general seem to not follow any pattern. My local Walmart loaded up with TDK, Toys R Us just has a couple pegs and doesn't even have any Indy stuff, very bizarre. Hopefully the MM's do well enough they buy the next wave with Two-Face and all.

Well, I know Mattel asked TRU (atleast) to take down some of their items so they could test them. That and I don't think they shipped all the figures, yet. They were redoing the packaging.

TRU will have the MM 2 packs starting July 8th. Begins Batman vs Scarecrow. TDK Batman vs Joker.

Mattel will show wave 2 at SDCC.

A quick article about the Financial Losses of the Batman Franchise

Wow, I knew Batman and Robin was a stinker, but a loss of money, even Forever did better :google, at least Begins was financially a step back in the right direction.

Ordered the limited SE version of the score today, figured better be safe, I can't wait to get it, this score ought to be as good or better than Begins.

What's the difference between the two (other than the cover art)??

Not sure, there aren't any details, I'm sure it's not just the cover though, if it is oh well, but I want to make sure I've got one booked and if for some reason the regular has things not in the SE, I'll get that too. I'm hoping it's extended to have more tracks or something.

I have a strong believe that The Dark Knight will gross more than 300mln dollars...domestic, worldwide I think it will be a big blockbuster because of all the attention it got (from heath's death) and will get for the movie...

and those gross numbers are from the domestic market alone...so worldwide, none of the movies got losses...

about the dark knight worldwide gross, I think it might be the first batman movie to gross more than Batman '89, batman grossed at that time about 413mln dollars.
I think this will be a +500.000.000mln dollar grossing movie worldwide...

He is saying 500 million worldwide, not domestic. Iron Man has already pulled in 550 worldwide.

Ah, I totally missed that little tidbit. I blame my ignorance on Riko, he clearly meant for me to make a fool of myself by not emboldening and highlighting the "worldwide". :D

Ok, then yeah, TDK can easily do $500 mil worldwide, let's see if it can do that domestic.

I'm thinking 275 domestic. It's over 2 hours long and will be a dark film.

Ya, statistically, I don't see TDK being a successful film at the box office; outside of the hardcore fanbase, I don't think it's going to see too much box office following. I think it'll be a well done film and really enjoyed by all who see it, but the dark tones of it and lack of the humor and charisma of other characters in comic films will work a bit against drawing fresh audience members in.

Gotta agree. The fascination with Heath's second-to-last performance might peak interest, though it won't be enough to break Ironman (which I haven't seen, by the way).

Let's also keep in mind that many people don't know it's Heath under that makeup. The film is also not being promoted as such.

Regardless, it'll be a big money maker for WB.

Even that, I think most folks that would "endure" the type of movie to see Heath's final performance will be the same ones that have clammored for this film since Begins ended.

In the end, I only care about how well the box office does in regards to funding another film, other than that, as long as they deliver the movie I expect to, they can count on me probably seeing it at least 3 times.

Which is the nice thing about the marketing of the Nolan films, it isn't about flashing names around, it's about pushing the story of Batman and in this case, Batman and the Joker.

I see the 275 as being successful. WB was estatic that Begins had very strong legs and rolled past the 200 mark since it had a soft 45'ish opening. I see TDK it making at least 100 opening weekend.

TDK has a budget of 200 mil and word is every bit of it is on the screen.

I should restate, I think it'll succeed, it won't be a flop, but it won't be a blockbuster like Spider-Man or POTC and the likes that have gone nuts, it will just do well for itself.

I beg to differ. This film will be nuts. My Imax theater nearly completely sold out of the midnight showing in 12 hours! Granted that is all of the huge fanboys, but I've NEVER seen tickets go that fast. Plus everyone I hear at the movies is talking about Batman.

Batman is going to be HUGE. I dare say beat Iron Man.
