Re: Batman Sequel "The Dark Knight" Announced

Yes indeed! You were one of the few, including myself, that didn't think Ledger was a bad choice.... tons of people were posting Brokeback Joker images and making bad jokes.

We kick ass:rock :rock :rock

:lol

I will admit I was one of those that made a BrokeBack Batman joke or two. I honestly just haven't seen enough of his work to have given him a fair chance. I've only seen A Knight's Tale and the Brothers Grimm, which neither role was that memorable to me.

But as soon as I saw the first trailer (with footage) I was instantly convinced he was the perfect guy for the role. EXACTLY how I would have played the Joker. EXACTLY. This will be what he will always be remembered for, and from the trailers alone, Oscar worthy.

Everyone here rocks! :D

I wish you could have all been there with me in Chicago watching them film parts of the movie. I was giddy as a school boy! And now to finally see what they were filming a year later on the screen, it is just beyond words.

I still hate you for that :p

bollocks to them!

i honestly LOVE this version of the joker much more already
can't wait to see the freakin film midnight showing

There was a Joker in the '89 Batman film? I thought Batman fought against Jack Nicholson in that movie.

Let's be honest, Jack Nicholson plays Jack Nicholson in every movie he's in, only within slight variations.

Yeah. Its kinda like Christian Slater does Jack Nicholson impressions in every film he does. :lol

Heath topped Jack in the first trailer alone. Seriously.

Amen. The first time everyone, including me, saw the teaser (more or less heard), I no longer had to defend Nolan's choice of Heath for the role. Every time there is a new TV spot or trailer, I find myself hitting the replay button way too often.

Yeah, it's pretty nuts... This has to be the most anticipated movie of my adult life, beats Star Wars and LOTR for me. I've never been so amped up for a film.

Same for me. Above all else, I'm a die hard Star Wars fan, but my anticipation for this movie tops any Star Wars anticipation. Maybe it's just timing in my life, but I almost feel a need to see a movie like this is shaping up to be, like this sort of story will really do something for me that'll make me feel all the better for having seen it.

Based on what I've seen in the trailers I do think Ledger will do a better job as The Joker than Nicholson did, but I certainly won't criticize Jack either as I still think he gave an excellent performance in the '89 film. It's two totally different portrayals of the character and I think they can both be enjoyed for what they are.

if there was only one movie i could see this summer, it would be Dark Knight. my anticipation for this movie is beyond anything I have ever experienced... more than Matrix Reloaded, Phantom Menace, Spiderman, Superman Returns, Terminator 2, and Batman Begins.

I kick ass, I posted this 2 years ago :lol

Yes you do King! :rock And yours truly made the very first post about Heath on page 1 post 7 of this thread 2 years ago the very day he was announced! :rock

Heath Ledger as The Joker???

...

I know W-G, but Heath can pull it off, my only reservation was with his gravely voice and how it may come off. I assume the Studio and Chris did a bunch of screen tests with the kind of Joker character they wanted to portray before committing and were happy.

Let's face it that dude can act. Glover was tested I know but he lacks depth.. it was Nolan's decision and he was pitch perfect with casting "Begins" except for Holmes and who knew how she got that gig, prolly politics so I'm confident Nolan and Goyer are happy...

That was well summed up.
