This new TDKR Batman is obviously better than the cutesy and incredibly subpar DX19, but it’s not enough for me to upgrade for the time being. OATY’s custom cowl is still the cowl to have, so if it’s compatible with this Batsuit, that’ll be the best kitbash.

I’ll enjoy reading the discourse here while I patiently wait for you know who:) they’ll do a much better job than this latest attempt by HT.

Do we have any quality pictures of the new cowl and neck alignment? In that sideshow pic it looks terrible.

Who hires those people,
the neck is turned to the left while his head is facing right.

There's an unboxing a few pages back with a clear look on it.

The production left eye looks like it’s trying to capture Bale’s likeness but falls off a good bit from proto.
To me I’m not seeing it at all in the right eye from those pics.

Hire an artist to produce
a TDK and BB cowl sculpt at this point, surely.

Zero chance OT gives up his ability to sell these at $300 a pop. They should just pay to get the real thing scanned and scale it down. They had plenty of cowls.
about to say **** oaty and get spade_work's cowl out of spite

actually, **** oaty lol I don't want his name in my collection anymore

Really interesting that somehow, HT's efforts on their FIRST Clooney Batman looks more accurate to the source than their SEVENTH Bale TDK/TDKR Batman.

Put a fork in them, they're cooked.

It’s all a game. There’s no reality where collectors rebuy Clooney Batmen over and over with incremental improvements, but huge swathes of the collecting community get suckered in by every new Bale and Ledger, no matter how minimal the improvement may be. They nailed Leto Joker the first time around too - most of their weird one-off figures look great.

This Batman doesn’t even come with as many accessories as the previous releases. Only one mouth plate, that’s tooled to be swappable, should tell you they aren’t done milking this new version. They’ll probably drop a more fleshed-out version whenever InArt solicits theirs, but then that release will be held back in some way so we’ll all be back to buy the next one. It’s a constant cycle.

Just them digging out an old mold for the Hong Kong cape backpack, that somehow hasn’t been included with any of their 1/6 Bales since the DX02, would sway folks.

Yep, they don’t make certain figures “definitive” as possible.

I’ve often wondered this myself in the past. A 1/6 conspiracy theory I don’t want to fully accept but it’s plausible. I understand there’s always going to be improvements to be had and 1/6 techniques will continue to evolve and in the end it’s a business, but to intentionally not go the extra mile with that current release will always leave a bad taste in my mouth. It’s why I’ve always had a sour opinion and outlook of Hot Toys.
