I think a better suited name for this movie would be “GOTHAM”.

The Dark Knight Rises reminds me to much of:
The Matrix – Reloaded
The Matrix - Revolution
TDKR is a perfect title for the movie.
and what is wrong with the matrix sequels.
there not nearly as good as the first but i still love them all.
i sentence you to death by exile. :lol

BAD ASS

^^^ Love it, except where are all the other guys -- did they fall thru the ice when Gordon tossed the flare aside? :horror

What I want to know is why was 'falling through the ice' suddenly not a concern anymore just because Batman came along. In fact why didn't Batman fall through the ice? What'd I miss?

Because he minded his surroundings :thwak

Don't you listen to a thing voidcat says. :tap

Well - it sure looked pretty.

Finally got to watch it this past weekend.

Pros:

Batman
Batman's Stuff including the Bat
Batman's 1st return
New Batcave
Catwoman
Alfred
Blake
Refurbished Batsignal at the end
Bane was ok but linked to one of my main problems.

Cons:

Batman's 2nd return (too rushed)
The siege of Gotham
The length of said seige
Hermit Wayne
Talia's death... Really? Was there not one take that she didn't look like she was smacked in the back of the head? grrr....
The "war" with the police - These guys have been underground for months and are ready to do a full on Braveheart battle charge - with 9mm's - facing an ary with tanks and ak's?

Main problem - And this was bugging me from the trailers. I just never felt the whole terrorist marshal law siege of the city bit. There was a more interesting story that was totally over looked IMO.

All the inmate that were released were not all hardend street thugs. These were the 800 + that were arrested under the Dent act which would have been all of the mod bosses and families.

To me the war should have been ditched in order to deal with finishing off the Mob.

Mob hires a mercenary (Bane) to finish off what the joker failed to do - Kill Batman.

Bane comes in with the plan to nuke Gotham. Use a dirty nuke. No need for the whole green energy bit. And the cops can fight the mod - not stand in as foot soldiers.

I'm fine with the exile bit. But bring in bats before the last 2 minutes before nuke time.

It just felt bloated and epic to be epic but not for a good reason.

Ra's wanted to destroy Gotham because it had become corrupt (read the mob) so it seems sad to me that the whole mob aspect was just thrown out.

I would have liked to see that tied up and still have been ok with the ending the way it was.

Sigh. It was pretty good with some great moments but I think it missed some marks.

Damn, I'm easily influenced, now the movie doesn't sit well with me again.
