That BW is one smart fella.

Is Batman in Gotham

Nuke goes off near Gotham, winds blowing towards Gotham, heavy radiation.

Hands over Batman suit and Gotham to Blake.

Leaves for Italy!

Sure it's about creating a symbol. :lol

You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself get Acute Radiation Syndrome.

Music in no order;

Verspitillo- Amazing. Love it when it plays on the training montage

Tadarias- When Bruce is scanning the room with the teddy bear, and then gets set on fire by Crane in BB

A watchful protector- The end speech just emphasises the beauty

Introduce a little anarchy- Best piece on TDK soundtrack; where Bruce is in the lambo.

Why do we fall- Its just, well. Batman Rising. Love the music, perfect.

Risen from Darkness; The first introduction of batman in TDKR mixed with catwomans theme is just awsomeness. i remember the whole scene in my head listening to it!

The shadows betray you- One of my fave TDKR tracks; When bats is being duped by Catwoman to Bane. its just so, I dont know how to explain. Unnerving, like you can feel the escalation in the music.

And I love this one but its not on the soundtrack nore is it used in the film;

the music for Returns is really magnificent, it is one of my favorite soundtracks, it is so dark and moody, I love it so much
like the Edward Scissorhands soundtrack, very beautiful songs in both

How can anyone not think this is batman. Pure batman right there. He's a stalker of the night always on his toes. Even with the justice league always on his toes.

Agreed.

In my opinion you cant compare Returns to Nolans trilogy. I mean yeah, its 20 years between TDKR and Returns, but the styles of Batman were probably the pinnacles of their release dates;

I mean Returns pretty much sums the early 90's and the start of the gothic Batman; from Killing joke, Legends of the Dark Knight series (stories like Gothic and Shaman) and BTAS, they all come under that collective.

Nolans films are much more technologically advanced and driven just like the modern comics. I mean look at Batman #1 of the new 52 and Batman Inc; Technology which made Richard have Jokers face, the crime lab given to the GCPD (referenced in TDKR). Theres such a heavy reliance on advanced technology in modern Batman. I mean, the bat computer has evolved from asking it questions and printing it on slips of paper, to being multi-nation databases, 3d imagery, touch screens and everything everywhere.

Thats how I view the films. I still cant stand nicholson as Joker in 89 and i never have. But to me it depends which era of batman you prefer in a sense; do you like the less gothic but more technologically advanced modern Batman, or the more comic book-like gothic style Batman. I meanI love returns but I hated that whole Penguin taking over the Batmobile scene. it was so ridiculous, but it was such a pure comic-book like incident. It still annoys me when I watch the film, because I just think its silly outside the pages of a comic book.

Its like, the Snow scene above to me, is perfect Batman. Unintimidated by anything, dark, brooding, disbelieving Cobblepot. Scouting the streets in the best batmobile that will ever grace this earth, questioning the motives and making his presence known. But you couldnt have Bale doing that in the Tumbler because it totally doesnt suit the character or era.

Contrast that to TDK where bruce is in the lamborghini, that too to me is perfect batman; out of costume in the day, still protecting Gotham. He knows the suit and Tumbler is far too inconspicuous, he also knows the Citizens are vying for his blood. Working with Alfred whos on the computer, naming and cross-analysing the on duty officers for immediate family members in the hospitals, forwarding it to Gordon. That to me is perfect batman too but of a different era and style. On the flipside, I could never imagine Keaton doing that, because the Bruce Wayne he played I feel didnt have that sort of, Batman out of the costume attitude and it just wouldnt work.

Probably not explaining it in the best way lol

You either die a hero, or you fake your death to become a Eurotrash tourist.

And to mindrape your loyal English butler. :monkey1

One of the things I wonder about is that funeral scene with Alfred's whole, "I failed you" schtick. The Alfred of comics Batman is often seen to be a superb actor. Could he have been in on it all along? He certainly doesn't seem too taken aback in the cafe when he spots Bruce.

(apologies if this has already been mentioned)
