The Bluray boxset includes "The Art and Making of...." book? Way to punish those for buying merchandise early  Also, I prefer the UK cover to the US cover. By far.

It's not the complete book, though. Looks to be an abridged version that is also the size of the disc box (i.e. much smaller).

If the Special Edition doesn't come with any additional content or features and is just the gimmicky cracked mask, I'll pass and get the regular Blu-ray set.

Hopefully the complete BATMOBILE documentary is included. I wouldn't mind buying that separately, though.

The only way I'm buying this out of the gate is if the Batmobile documentary is included. If not, I'll probably just pass.

I got the Batpod TDK Blu-Ray from a closing Blockbuster for $10 back in 2009. Its the most impractical disc case I've ever seen.

Great, I was afraid of this, now I have to buy that giant cowl edition to get all the extras. :thwak

I do hope the normal blu-ray trilogy and dvd sets get the batmobile doc, but yeah, sucks that Ending the Knight is only available for limited edition. This might change my mind into buying any trilogy set at all for the moment. I'd rather just have one set that has everything without some gimmicky statue with it.

If you can, wait until the reboot, I'm sure they'll re-release all these with all the fixins' at that point.

They'll milk this for years to come, no doubt. But I love the look of the special edition so will be getting that for sure, and maybe even the trilogy set at this point.

Damn Nolan and his resistance to deleted scenes and special features!!!

Is the combo pack only available in the cracked cowl packaging, or will it be a regular release as well?

No, thankfully there's a regular 3 disc boxset. I don't see the point in a big gimicky case like the cowl that makes no sense. The entire cowl is just a giant thing that's not going to fit on my shelf and in no way houses the discs themselves.

The cowl edition has a 7-minute doc called Ending the Knight which is not available on any other version. It's not confirmed yet if the batmobile doc they mentioned is only available on the cowl edition though, sucks if it is though.

Couldn't care less myself. If it's something you want so bad dont buy some gimmicky thing tho just for that, it'll probably end up online somewhere.

Who said its 7 minutes? I read its made of 17 featurettes. It's probably over the hour mark

I don't own either BB or TDK on Bluray. I got them both BEFORE I had Bluray and I purposely bought the one disc editions knowing one inevitable day I'd get a boxset with all the possible goodies on the most current technology out there.

Those saying Nolan doesn't do behind-the-scene featurettes, have you SEEN "Inception?" I couldn't believe how much was revealed in the making of features on that film. Close to an hour of footage/interviews. I would have LOVED a retrospect featurette in this boxset and all the original bonus features from the original releases I missed out on. Honestly, that "Art and Making of...." book is probably the best thing we'll ever get in terms of that sort of thing.
