I saw it for two reasons. For the action. And the characters. That's it. Not a single thing more.

It's a MOVIE. Not a film. It exists for entertainment. But it did it so well. So perfectly well. It's one of those perfect movies. Like Raiders of the Lost Ark, and Jaws.

Movies that do what they intended to do to perfection.

You seem to want to be smarter then everything. When the best films are the most simplest. They're made with love, and intelligence. Not cynicism and greed.

It couldn't have been better, because it was perfect. What else did it need? A story that was overly complicated? Have you seen the prequels? The whole point was to see Darth Vader turn. Not space trades, tax invasions, political take overs....it missed the point of what it was doing, and that's why they are bad movies.

The Avengers got right to the core of what everyone wanted to see. These characters working together. To bog it down with a complicated story would have made it one of the biggest failures ever made.

Thankfully, Joss understood this. And that's why it works.

It's why Transformers doesn't. Overly complicated story for no reason. No one wants to go to a movie like that for the story. They come for the action. If they made the story really simple and easy, the films would work a lot better. Nothing wrong with being simple.

Nothing wrong with being complicated. But you can't overly complicate things that don't need it.

You're a smart youngling you know that.

Now sit still and let Anakin do his thing. :horror

Could be worse, it could be Bane. :horror :horror

Shame he didnt understand how rubbish he made Hawkeye and Widow. I didnt even know they had characters in the film. Even jeremy renner was unhappy with how Hawkeye turned out. I didnt like Widow, Johansson just isnt Natasha in my eyes. But god damn I would.

And to be honest, I found the whole 'coulsons death bringing Avengers together' utter bullshat. It felt so false and forced that this side character and I mean, side character, would suddenly shock every avenger into working together. It was just laughable. The silent close ups of the heroes looking in different directions to one and other. It was just hilariously stupid.

There was only Downey and Ruffalo out of the Avengers that were superb and I mean, superb. renner couldve done so much more with Hawkeye. Chris Evans was good as cap, still hate thor and I hate loki and I found the whole omigawd alien invasions just pure boring and ridiculous.

I hate the fact that theyve put Iron Man into a world now where theres aliens, inter dimensions and all that crap. I liked Iron Man for the fact that it felt abit like the hyper realism of what the Batman films had. I liked how he was fighting terrorists. Iron Man 2 felt abit like a retread (someone steals the suit/builds their own version, got to stop them etc etc) but i never imagines seeing thor flying across the screen or aliens coming down in those films, but theyve made their bed now.

Its like having Superman appear in TDKR and fly the nuke away and disappear. Just ruin the film, and for me, I hated how they put Iron man from a hyper-reality individual film series into a super-duper alien invasion filled cross planet majig.

All of that sounds like nit picky nonsense to me.

Coulson was the ONE CHARACTER that brought half the team together.

Tony, and Thor knew him the best. Cap just met him. Aside from him, they've known him for the longest, so it's the most logical that he is their catalyst.

The entire world agrees with that. You're the only person that doesn't.

Aliens have been in the Marvel Universe forever. Iron Man was never a gritty reality story. They made their bed the moment Nick Fury stepped on the screen.

At first I was like, "What a troll", then I looked over and saw who posted. No surprises here.

Theres a difference between 'troll' and genuinely thinking it was poorly done and overly cheesy, making it by my books rubbish and ridiculous.

Like I said, I didnt like the film really, and I dont care if the world and his dog disagrees with it, I found it ridiculous regardless of whether Tony knew him as an annoyance, or Thor knew him. It was stupid, cheesily done and such a side character to have such a massive impact is just ludicrous. Then again, Fury did fabricate the story ever so slightly but the point still stands; from arguing and squaring up to 'suddenly' being moody and silent with dramatic camera angles of the heroes not looking at each other and pulling together 'for the greater good!' which didnt exactly get any greater because some side agent died.

I know aliens have been in the marvel universe forever, whether it chitauri, skrulls, dire wraiths, shi-ar, symbiotes, watchers etc etc. Doesnt mean I personally want them in a marvel film though. And they did make their bed when Fury stepped in, but still, as a stand alone franchise you can watch Iron man without avengers and you dont even need to watch the after credits scene at all.

I just didnt like the avengers have a stereotypical alien invasion CGI explosion fest with piss poor characterisation of Hawkeye, Thor is a rubbish character IMO, I still see Johnny Storm not Cap America. The best thing about Avengers aside from Downey, was Ruffallo. Never been a huge hulk fan but I want more of Him, more of this incredible hulk and I want it kinda NOW.

Just because you can't grasp the concept doesn't make it poor. Cheesy? Yeah, that was the effect they were going for.

lol i know exactly what they were trying to do. They just did it horribly. And i doubt they was aiming for cheese with the Avengers.

I can see how someone would not be impressed with Avengers. I can also see how someone would not be impressed with DKR.

There must be something horribly wrong with me. :sick
