Preponderance of exposition:


Bruce is retired. Catwoman is working for Dagget to get a clean slate in life. Gordon has to come to terms from the lie he and Batman created. Alfred wants Bruce to live a happy life as he feels he's failing Thomas and Martha Wayne. Bane wants to destroy Gotham after he makes it's citizens lose hope. John Blake is an idealistic cop. Foley doesn't like Batman. Stock Exchange collapses.

Batman returns. Batman gets beaten by when he's trapped by Catwoman. Bruce is sent to prison. ETC. ETC. ETC.

You are dealing with the concluding chapter of a trilogy. Because true trilogies are all about going back to the beginning and discovering something that wasn't true from the get-go:


Alfred makes trips to Italy during Batman Begins expecting to see a happy Bruce there.

Bane was part of the League of Shadows.

Ra's Al Ghul is Bruce Wayne's father, errr, scratch that last one.

One: you've got a killer who's gonna be superhuman. Stabbing him won't work. Shooting him won't work. Basically, in the third one, you've gotta cryogenically freeze his head, decapitate him, or blow him up.

I was under the impression he always knew it was going to be a trilogy. Apparently he always had the end in mind right from the very beginning.

People ask if we’d always planned a trilogy. This is like being asked whether you had planned on growing up, getting married, having kids. The answer is complicated. When David and I first started cracking open Bruce’s story, we flirted with what might come after, then backed away, not wanting to look too deep into the future. I didn’t want to know everything that Bruce couldn’t; I wanted to live it with him. I told David and Jonah to put everything they knew into each film as we made it.

Yea it was ok at some point but other times it sounded very silly. Why on earth did he have that english accent ?

I think Bane's mask had a voice box in it. I doubt that's his natural voice.
