Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Not sure what to think.

But it's Nolan. It will probably be good. Hell I watched Insomnia the other night and actually enjoyed it.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Really didnt expect to see bane in the next film. But i have faith nolan will do a great representation. Just hope he's not just another mindless, hulking brute.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Sounds good to me. He got it right with Heath so I'm sure these two will work out fine.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Anne Hathaway as Catwoman I am COMPLETELY fine with. She really is a spectacular actor. And well she is SMOKING HOT! Tom Hardy as Bane Im kind of "meh" with as Bane is such a boring character. However....
I Believe in Christopher Nolan.
He will probably bring a complexity to the character not seen before, and will make sense in the context of the story. Was really hoping for Hugo Strange though.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Bane is supposed to be really smart as well as physically strong - i'm SURE Nolan will give us something on those lines, particularly because it's Tom Hardy.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I didn't think Bane and Catwoman were the next on tap...it's definitely going to be a different film that TDK...

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Bane and Hardy, wonderful.

But Hathaway and Catwoman, damn... why >.<

He had always a good choice with the men-characters, but with his choice of females... mh...

that girl in inception, Katie Holmes and Maggie G. and now hathaway... i don't know :/

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I have a feeling we'll get a Mickey Rourke mix of Whiplash and The Ram for Bane as someone else posted above....

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Cannot wait to get a synopsis of the story... surely Batman's back cannot be broken by Bane in this film? Unless Nolan is planning an epic that takes place over 6months-1yr or something, so back breaks early in the piece, 2nd act is Batman in recovery mode and in the 3rd act...he rises?

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I have a feeling we'll get the over the knee backbreaker but his back won't actually be broken as a nod to the books.

I sure hope not. In a 2 hour movie that doesn't give a lot of time for any of those stories to develope very well. The one thing I hated about TDK was that Two Face wasn't in it enough and I hate for the new one to seem like that.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I don't think it'll be anything like Whiplash.

Has anyone here read The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown? The antagonist Malakh - that character is what I think of when I think of what a Nolan Bane would be like.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Guys, I'm sure that whatever Nolan's Bane turns out to be, it'll never be the crap that Schumacher gave us!

That would be quite cool

I don't honestly think we'll have a broken back Batman on our hands. But he's sure to get a tough beating from Bane. Otherwise no real point in having Bane in the movie.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I know Hathaway's considered a great actress, but I can't help but feel that she's a bit goofy.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

One of my big problems with the Bane backbreaking story is Bruce is too smart to continue going fist to fist if he's outmatched. Batman's greatest weapon is his mind. It would have been more true to the character for Bruce to change the arena to where he would have the advantage.

Hathaway hasn't played a role I'm crazy about yet. She's rather vanilla in most of her films. She's got a likable enough personality. She's definitely got the bod to fill out the catsuit. But the only movie where she stood out is Get Smart. I guess this is her chance to change that, but I'm concerned.

Of course, I never thought much of Heath Ledger before Dark Knight...
