Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Of course. He got 7 films, 4 after he was dead. Riddler got one and was played by Jim Carrey :lol

Jigsaw > Riddler

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

This statement tells me that you really don't know much about Bane. Try to make more informed statements, it usually yields better results.

a kid who was born in a prison and kills people with a knife in his teddy bear gets tested with super roids (venom, same thing) and becomes addicted to it, escapes to Gotham with the "fabulous five" and doesn't like batman because he reminds him of a bat that used to haunt his dreams.

I find a guy who (depending on how his origin is taken) could have a personal vendetta against Bruce Wayne, who could probably take over the city better than the Joker, and in a much more organized fashion, who could deduce Batman's identity quickly and use it against him, cause severe destruction in the city with all of his traps and whatnot, and keep Batman weary and guessing of what the crap he will do next, much more interesting than a beefed up guy with a bad childhood and a drug addiction. I think Bane would make a possibly cool secondary villain, but I can't see him as the main.

You could say the Riddler is like the Joker, but I think they are very different. And besides, all the villains are similar in one way or another, and they all have one common thing: They hate Batman

Jigsaw's just a weird old man who likes to play avenging angel and screw with people's lives because he got into a dear death experience. Lame.

Seems like you've got a woody for him though.

EDIT: Not to mention the Riddler has been around way longer than Jigsaw.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

In riddler's defense.... Jim Carrey is a badasss lol.

Fact. :lecture

Also interesting is that one of my mom's friends dated him, but left him because he was attending AA meetings and her grandmother was an alcoholic and she couldn't take it.

Jim may not have portrayed the best Riddler, but it is a different rendition, and it is enjoyable. I read somewhere that the whole Batman Forever movie was supposed to be darker, along with Two Face and the Riddler, but the darker scenes were cut due to WB ordering them to, and they haven't shown up on DVD yet.

Don't discount Frank.

Awesome. :lol

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I've always been a Carrey fan... and as gay as his riddler was i liked him (in a platonic way). It was funny and enjoyable

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Jim Carry is awesome. His Riddler sucked. Joker 2. Fact.

Also fact, The Riddler has been done.

Also fact, so has Bane.

But, never as a main baddy. A side thing....so who knows.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

While I'm excited about the prospect of Nolan turning Bane into a worthy villain, I agree with Eddie being a little bummed out.
While I have personally never liked The Riddler as a character, I felt that if anyone could make me believe and fear him, it would be Nolan.

I would have loved to see The Riddler handled in a manner similar to Kevin Spacey's character from Se7en.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Truthfully, i'd take any villian Nolan would've used. Ivy, Freeze, Kiteman...because I trust him way too much. Cant help it. That man could film himself taking a ____, and it'll probably be the most intense, and thought provoking film of the year.

Nolan = <3

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Riddler was the last villain I would have wanted to see. His best portrayal was in Hush, and...

...he was still just a puppet.
:dunno

Bane has the potential to challenge Batman on a level he hasn't been yet: brute force. Once you've bested the Joker mentally, any other intellectual challenge is going to be anti-climactic. He needs to deal with a villain who will be a physical threat.

Freeze would have made a cool ass villain.

....er.......no pun intended.

This is precisely why I am more interested in Bane as the villain.

If mr freeze was played by patrick stewart i think it would work. It would be pretty awesome. His name was pretty much tarnished in B&r
