Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I wasn't expecting Neeson to return especially when Nolan had that hardline status that Two-Face was dead when that could have easily been played as opposed to actually introducing Lazarus pits. Personally I'd like to see the Scarecrow in one more film in the same cameo capacity just to show that the villains are a continuous threat which most directors destroy with the killing of villains in these films but other than that I'm good with starting fresh. This film has three potential batvillains in it already not to mention the rumors of Talia still floating around so they definitely don't need anymore.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

It would have been neat to see Ras back, but I'm not surprised he won't be. I'd love to see a little teaser though that indicates he's alive or something.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Seems to be a little momentum building on the JGL as Alberto Falcone rumour... but not believing anything just yet

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

That's the best way to go about it. :D

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Yeah, I'd be really surprised if he is cast as an established character... even one as outside of the mainstreams Bat knowledge as Alberto.....

I feel that he will be either a Cop or a Reporter. Time will tell....

I think Nolan will be doing something like this.

I think it would be neat to have one of the blue flowers from Begins left somewhere in Wayne Manor for Bruce to find. And then have Bruce imagine Neeson quoting something from one of his lessons at the elusive ninja academy.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

See for me I would have done the blue flower but have nothing with Neeson actually included. Have Bruce look at it and wonder "What the hell is this?", no speech just the look on his face and then have him move on to the more pressing matter. A small nod that Ras is alive and watching Bruce but that is an issue for another time kind of thing.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Yes that would be cool ^

Actually the more I think about it the more I would love for the next 'post Nolan' director to continue with the storyline established by the Nolan trilogy. Yeah perhaps hire someone who is willing to delve a little more into the supernatural aspects of some of the villains / open the door for crossovers into the other DCU heroes, but keep the basis as the Nolan story.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I hope the post Nolan films continue to build on the three films rather than re-boot again. But no doubt the next director will need to take ownership and do new things. perhaps by Batman 4 or 5 the groundwork will be there for a villain with superpowers.

And I like the blue flower idea. It ties things up nicely.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Batman 4 will nodoubtedly follow the path of Batman Forever where a director is found that will try and keep to the spirit of the director before them with a new Batman as well. The key will be getting the director that works.

I'd recommend Joel Schumacher in a heart beat :lecture

Nah, Michael Bay!

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I'd love to see Darren Aronofsky direct a Batman film, but he had his own very unique take on the character:

"Among other things, Bruce flees after his parents are murdered, and goes to live above a car garage with Big Al, and his son Little Al. Big Al eventually dies, and Little Al becomes Bruce's mentor and the "Alfred" figure. Bruce turns a Lincoln Continental into his Batmobile, but he doesn't really set out to be a bat — he disguises himself first with a scar, then with a hockey mask and cape. He is hitting criminals with his father's old signet ring, leaving the initials "TW" on their faces — but everybody thinks this looks like a bat-shape, and they start calling him the Batman. So he finally decides to go with it and dress like a bat. We meet Harvey Dent and Selina Kyle before they become Two-Face and Catwoman, and also glimpse the Joker. Despite these differences, some scenes and strands are lifted directly from Miller's graphic novel."

I'm not sure Aronofsky would continue what Nolan started if he got the gig.

Wow glad that did not get made lol ^

Well there's a real lack of truly great modern directors these days

Would never happen but a Michael Mann batman movie would be killer

Cool article. Aronofsky's good...but thank God we got Nolan instead.
