Well we've seen in Hollywood that continuity and origins aren't exactly sacred ground. Batman Forever radically changed Grayson's origins to fit the need of the film, I could just as easily see Nightwing as Batman inspired hero similar to the Friends of Batman angle in TDK only to the next logical level who get refined and trained by Bruce, they could easily cut out anything that had to do with him ever being Robin and get away with it pretty simply.

That being said I doubt it'll happen.

Yeah, it's not going to happen.

Though, it would be cool to see Nolan's take on the character, sort of like Joker. It would certainly be a challenge worth taking to get the "Dynamic Duo" right on the silver screen. Especially after Batman and Robin.

But, with that said, it shouldn't be THIS film.

Technically Robin isn't a kid in Gotham but a youngster traveling around in the Circus with the Flying Graysons but I get your point and agree with it. I don't think we'll see Robin of any kind or form in this film but it was an interesting rumor to suddenly spring up.

Agreed DiFabio that it probably should NOT be this film where the Grayson relationship is explored, because it does need to be addressed in a more spaced out and focused way.

My post was just throwing a potential storyline out there because well, we have no info to go on really at this point.

So who the HECK is JGL going to play?

I wouldn't want Robin in the film. But it might be cool (if done right) to introduce D|ck Grayson towards the end. As they did with the Joker card in the first film, it could be a great note to go out on.

I always suspected that liitle boy batman met at batman begins was jason todd since he seemed like he was living in a bad environment. I would like robin to be introduced at the end tho or at least show a flying grayson's poster.

I don't mean any disrespect to Heath Ledger, but if the Joker is in the movie in any capacity, it'll have to be Levitt. I was thinking he'd play a role similar to how Hannibal Lecter was in Red Dragon. I think Levitt could pull it off, and I trust Nolan.

I've been reading a lot of [very good] speculation in various places that JGL could be playing Alberto Falcone, which would work very well IMO, especially since in 'The Long Halloween' Alberto Falcone had ties to Catwoman so they could utilise that somehow in TDKR.

That could work really well actually. I can kind of imagine him as Alberto Falcone. Will be interesting to see if anything comes of this speculation.
