Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Batman's not too tricky (if you want scrambled continuity, try figuring out Black Canary). Publishing order is what I go by too. If there are canon events with any importance, they fall into place on their own.

Also...

Yeah I've done a halfway decent job figuring thins out with Batman. I generally go with the publishing date too, but the crossovers throw me off, as well as some of the different titles, like the ones that take place early in his career.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

John Cena in the direct to video Bret Ratner batman special.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

the only problem with the Long Halloween is that after you read it I feel that no other books come close to it. I do love all batman stories though.

I would have to agree with that

TLH is a long way ahead of 99% of comic books in terms of its quality. I'd rate it alongside Miller's Year One as the finest Batman story.

No coincidence that Nolan has drawn heavily from those two storylines.

I enjoyed Hush too but in hindsight mostly for Jim Lee's stunning artwork. The story was at the end of the day too jumbled and incoherent.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Yeah, I agree MacReady. I've read pieces of Long Halloween, and it's good ____ but I find the artwork horrendous. Batman looks awful, Catwoman looks like crap and the Joker is all teeth.

I grew used to it

The Dark Knight Returns is a masterpiece agreed.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

As brilliant as Miller's Dark Knight Returns was, DK2 was awful. I would like to buy the Absolute edition of Dark Knight but I hate that DK2 is in there.

Between "The Dark Knight Strikes Again" and "All Star Batman and Robin" I'm pretty sure Frank Miller has come to hate Batman and Batman readers.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

All Star is goddamn awful

DK2 was ok

DK2 was another one that suffered from bad art more than anything else. Really neat parts in there, but half of the time you can't even tell what the ____ is going on.

I was a fan of All Star after the initial "goddamn" shock passed. It was different. Beats the hell outta Morrison.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I didn't care for TDKR or Arkham Asylum. I guess there is something wrong with me, because I know both of those get rave reviews from fans.

Anne Hathaway trains for Catwoman, preps for Catwoman
Associated Press LOS ANGELES -

These days, Anne Hathaway is a busy woman. Or make that a busy Catwoman.

The 28-year-old actress is training for the physical demands of her lead role in "Catwoman" (and its sleek, physique-revealing catsuit) as she flexes her comedy muscles alongside James Franco as co-hosts of Sunday's Academy Awards.

"There's a lot going on, but it's all really super-duper positive," Hathaway said between fittings Wednesday. "I feel like I have a big fight coming up and everyone's giving me the thumbs-up and the 'you'll-rock-it' fist pump. I have unbelievable support."

The Oscar team is helping Hathaway and Franco find their funniest material, she said, and the producers "are making it as easy as possible on me."

"It's all been kind of wonderful and jovial," she said. "It turns out it takes a village to host the Oscars."

Hathaway's biggest challenge this week? Navigating the city's famous freeways and making it to all her appointments on time. But she's got that one covered: "Luckily my assistant is a really good driver!"

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

^They make it sound like she's the lead in a film called "Catwoman." :slap
No mention of Selina Kyle, The Dark Knight Rises, and no one knows what the suit will look like. Stupid AP :thwak

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I like that Ross does an old-school Batman. I think if anything bugs me it's that he uses his friend Frank Casey as the reference model for both Batman and Superman. Ross doesn't do much to disguise this even in the face.
