Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Yeah, the first leaked pic was of a pit type thing in india, people speculated it might be the lazarzus pit. But it definitely wasn't confirmed in any way.

Yeah I remember this pic but its to inconclusive for me to tell either way. Like I said I dont think anything has really been confirmed. As secretive as Nolan is about his films I highly doubt he heard this on Entertainment Tonight. I think they may have been speculating on what fans were saying and he took it as confirmation or something.

:lolAwesome:lol

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

No one here has seen it. You should try the Green Lantern movie thread. :monkey5

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I saw Green Lantern and it was really crappy, it would seem that every superhero type film Reynolds is in turns to poop. It's to bad too because I like Green Lantern in the comics.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

If Green Lantern is bombing at the box office there's no way in hell a Deadpool movie is gonna do any better.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

____ all of you Green Lantern Haters. :lol

On to the news:

Most of us probably don’t go to gossip sites like Hollywood Life (via Batman News) but maybe we should. They have a great description of Anne Hathaway‘s Catwoman costume from The Dark Knight Rises:

Anne’s outfit is more tactical, like the comic book, than the previous Batman movies,” a source very close to the costume design tells us exclusively. “She will definitely be wearing the goggles and it’s going to be less sexy than Halle Berry and Michelle Pfeiffer’s Catwoman costumes. She’s going to look more like a robber.” Adds the insider, “But fan boys shouldn’t be worried. This costume is going to be form-fitting enough to make Anne look smoking hot.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Yeah saw that over on SHH

Also - Wayne will have a new ride, because his old one got smashed up of course

https://batman-news.com/2011/06/28/bruce-waynes-new-ride-in-the-dark-knight-rises/#!prettyPhoto[Bruce%20Wayne%E2%80%99s%20new%20ride%20in%20%E2%80%98The%20Dark%20Knight%20Rises%E2%80%99]/0/

That will make it a new lambo for each film - that's how he rolls

Also - check this out:

Scenes for the new Batman film The Dark Knight Rises could be shot in the Highlands.

Newspaper reports have suggested the A9 near Inverness will be shut to allow a Hercules C130 aircraft to land on it.

It has also been reported that this scene involved Batman trying to crash land a plane - and many people seem to believe this could be the epic opening sequence Wally Pfister has referred to.... hype is going into overdrive now :yess:

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

music to my ears

man I better stop checking in on this thread.. I completely skipped any news on the previous two films, but i've been reading up on everything for this one.. :(

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

If this movie has a scene where
Batman crash lands a military transport plane,
then you had better believe that Nolan is going to go out and film it for real. I really admire his sparing use of CGI. If it can actually be shot in the real world, he finds a way to do it, and only uses computers as a last resort.

And that is just another reason why he's easily the best Director out there at the moment in my book

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Your brain can tell the difference between something real on the screen and something digital. When that semi turned over in TDK and the Batpod did that little reverse flip on the wall, I had goosebumps in the theater. I literally had a physical reaction. CGI doesn't have the same impact because you know it's fake. We've been fed so much CGI over the last decade that we've forgotten the visceral charge that can be had out of actually seeing amazing stunts captured on film. Even blowing up a miniature can look better on film than CGI. Nolan will always choose the best tool for each scene or shot, and not just fall back on CGI for everything. That's one of the things that makes him great.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Same with the tunnel chase, the miniatures worked incredibly well.

Until CG can capture the weight and real world presence of physical materials, it will always feel off for me.

Pretty sure the little Batpod flip on the wall was CGI too. It was cool in theaters, but looking back it's clearly CGI and kind of childish.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

i never understood how that was physically possible (In the movie universe or in real life).. he had gun barrels atleast two feet long on each side of the wheel.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I just discovered the exterior scenes for Wayne Manor are being filmed at a country house about 25 minutes from where I live,

https://www.flickr.com/photos/d-kav/5818370825/

Wollaton Hall is a popular picnic spot in the area and the grounds have been open to the public for years and the hall itself has a museum in it.

So it was kind of suprising to watch the local news and see footage of the Hollywood machine setting up shop in a place I must have been to hundreds of times as a youngster.

Apparently the cast are all staying locally and were all seen in a pub in Wollaton Village called the Admiral Rodney which I've also been in a few times.

Bruce Wayne now has a Lamborghini Aventador and a scene of him exiting the Manor with Selina Kyle was seen being filmed.

My anticipation for this movie was already high but knowing Wayne Manor is just up the road will really add to my enjoyment of it :)

EDIT
Found a few set pics,
