Here it is banking around a turn (I say to destroy some Tumblers).

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Yeah, HT is probably already "thinking" about what selling this Batcopter/Batwing thing will entail. Hell, at this point I bet we see HT re-release the Tumbler and Batpod along with the figures and maybe even give us a tan Tumbler modeled after the ones we've seen in the pics. too. Damn. Where are we going put this stuff? Might as well build a new addition on to your house for this stuff.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

If it is flying that low and close to buildings, I am thinking it is a hovercraft type of plane, like the harrier jumpjets. No way a copter blade will clear that narrow street.

Harrier, YES! But even better yet--F-35 Lightning II. The new F-35 has a VTOL/jump jet capability and the styling of this prop reminds me a lot of a F-117 and F-35 hybrid. I agree, the batcopter idea with blades sounds way too unlikely now since I've seen like three other videos of this thing following that big semi truck thing down the street. Also, HK from Terminator and APC and Dropship from Aliens comes to mind too. Big allusions to James Cameron here from Team Nolan.

One other thing,
The reason for the snow and the rumor of a device that Bane controls reminds me of the Barr/Bingham story, Batman: Son of the Demon that had Batman, Talia and Ra's teaming up to defeat an enemy of Ra's' who gets a hold of a weather control device (I believe). Could this be a part of the plot? Also, that story introduced us to Bruce and Talia's son, which would go on to become (with some huge changes), Damian Wayne. Ah, I wonder...

I was thinking the same thing, but anything is possible in movies.

But i'm thinking you may be right and it's a batwing instead of bat copter.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

All these crappy spoilers are really starting to make me lose faith in this flick so I think its time to unsubscribe until the movie hits so I won't get more depresed.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Why would it fly 2 feet off the ground?
it's rigged for that low only for the scene requiring it to fly that low in downtown. i think there's a real possibility also we'll see this bat-copter shot with green screen in the studio for a higher altitude flying.

i'm not sure if in the footage we see, they were actually shooting for real. the truck and the batplane following it were just moving too slow for it to be a real shoot. the camera truck, the military truck, and the batplane could be just rehearsing for camera movement, OR they could just be on the way to another location, perhaps a location more spacious and less constricting? if that's the case, then bat-copter is a very real possibility. nothing is for certain until we see the film.

with the two 'arms' protruding in the front, i'd say it's a hybrid of f-35 and macross valkyrie:

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I'm curious to know if any of this movie will take place at night. Having a guy dressed in rubber pretending to be a bat loses something when he's running around in broad daylight ...

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I'll be surprised if all of the "day" shots we've seen so far actually end up being "day" shots in the finished film. It's no secret A LOT of movies that portray night time scenes are actually shot in broad daylight. Wonder if that's the case here.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

It seems like there will be alot of cgi in this compared to the other two.
