Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I think I'd be more concerned with what he included.

:rotfl:lol:rotfl:lol

Yeah..

Honestly the only real competition for best ever trilogy this will have for me (assuming TDKR is as good as the first two) is LOTR.

But since Batman is a lot more near and dear to me I know even if TDKR is not quite of the same quality, it'll still end up being my favorite trilogy.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Rating the best trilogy ever is like rating the best baseball player ever ,it can't be done.I personaly didn't like lotr but that's my opinion.were someone else might rate it at number 1.if the dkr isn't good will it be compared to xmen or spiderman?first 2 were good but knowone mentions them as trilogys.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

These bat movies to me are just okay, mindless action and over the top Batman acting from Bale (just popcorn flicks). Other trilogies l would rather watch first would be (in no order).
LOTR
Star Wars
Riddick Trilogy (once the new one is released)
Jay And Silent Bob movies (sort of a trilogy/series)
Godfather
Alien
Spawn Cartoon series/trilogy
And a couple porn trilogies.

The action was never mindless....it always had a very, very clear goal.

And two...only Two films you put on your list are actual trilogies. The rest aren't, therefore, don't count.

What do you mean only two on my list are actualy trilogies?
Star Wars (a trilogy)
LOTR (a trilogy)
Godfather (a trilogy)
Spawn cartoon 3 movies (a trilogy)
Once the 3rd Riddick movie comes out it will be (a trilogy)

Star Wars = 6 films. I know people like to break them up into two sets of 3 films but it's irrelevant. 6 films is not a trilogy.

Spawn = 1 film and a 3 seasons of animated cartoons (18 episodes total). That's not a trilogy.

The Chronicles of Riddick = 2 films with a possible third. Until that happens it's not a proper trilogy.

Jay & Silent Bob = 1 film, 6 movie appearances. That's not a trilogy.

Alien - There's 4 movies in that series, 6 if you count the AVP movies.

Porn - :lol:lol:lol

So realistically, the only trilogies you listed were The Godfather and LOTR.

Porn trilogies ? ........ where !!!!

Anyway by saying that your gonna start a heated debate. Batfans have grown in numbers since tdk. You better stay back brian:wave

I've only seen 20 seconds of the first one:lecture

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Just saw Contagion. I spotted a bunch of TDK and TDKR cast members in the damn thing. Lau, Ramirez and Miranda (or if the rumors are true, Talia).

Not to mention that the TDKR teaser trailer was attached to the film along with a bunch of Tom Hardy and Gary Oldman stuff. Seems like all these things are muddling together.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

The Batman films have been great and definitely raised the bar for comic films but it will never touch the greatness that was the Back to the Future trilogy. I'd rather watch BTTF 2 over most films out now any day :lol

l only like the three original Star Wars movies, the new ones don't exist to me so l count it as a trilogy . There will be 3 Riddick movies. So l say there a 4 in my list, if you still don't agree Damn yous all to hell.:lol

Oh and there was that Peter North facial trilogy (three feature length compilations), so that makes 5 trilogies.:nana:

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I'd agree that you can't count Star Wars as a trilogy - but if you do, it still doesn't stand up. While ROTJ has it's moments, there's far too much ewok silliness. Most trilogies fall apart on the third film - Godfather, Spider-man, and yes, the OT. Again, I'd include Alien as well, but it went well beyond a trilogy.

Best trilogies for me, where the story held up through all three films and the trilogy concept worked - LOTR, BTTF and Toy Story. We'll see if Nolan's Bat films can add to that list.

If you're going to count the spawn cartoons there is actually a Riddick cartoon , Dark fury , so that's already a trilogy.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Yah I really only like BTTF. 2 are 3 are fun, but for me just not as good. I usually always wind up watching BTTF if its ever on TV. But the other 2 i tend to usually take a pass if they are on. There are parts of #2 especially that get really silly that kind of bother me. I actually like #3 better.

Batman Begins & TDK are my favorites of all time, so I will have to say once TDKR is over, it will be my favorite trilogy

1. Nolan's Batman
2. Star Wars 456
3. LOTR triolgy

They are all tops in my book.

Yup, that's a damn good list :rock

totally agree with that list.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Ill always break the SW saga into two trilogies. 1-3 is the Anikan Skywalker story, and 4-6 is the Luke Skywalker story. Similar to the Hobbit is Bilbo's story and LOTR is Frodo's story.

Makes sense.

But I break them down in this manner:

ANH / ESB were made for adults.

ROTJ / TPM / AOTC / ROTS were made for 10-15yrs olds.
