The Dark Knight Rises:’ New Scene Revealed, More Details on Catwoman Suit

The first time you watched the theatrical trailer for The Dark Knight Rises, a ton of questions obviously popped onto your head. For me, one of them was, “Why is Bruce Wayne in prison again?” In Batman Begins, the young Mr. Wayne was in prison punishing himself for the fate of his parents only to come out of the experience stronger than before and on his way to becoming the Caped Crusader. In The Dark Knight Rises trailer, we see Bruce walking into an almost Inception-esque room filled with staircases and chanting prisoners. “What does that mean?” asks Bruce. “Rise,” says a knowing prisoner. As fans, we can ask the same question, “What does that mean?”
A new article written on the set of The Dark Knight Rises offers up a significant clue but, of course, it should be considered a massive spoiler. Read it, along with new details about Catwoman’s suit, after the jump.
The information comes from the Los Angeles Times who recently ran a profile of Anne Hathaway‘s Catwoman. Here’s the scene as described in the article. Again. beware of spoilers:
Gotham City is a war zone. A ruthless madman named Bane has ripped away any sense of security and the citizens, haggard and clutching suitcases with refugee anxiety, sit behind barbed wire waiting to see what will blow up next. A hooded prisoner is dragged in – it’s Bruce Wayne, one of Gotham’s most famous faces – but the eyes of the crowd go instead to the woman in black standing at the top of the staircase.
“Sorry to spoil things, boys, but Bane needs these guys himself,” says sultry Selina Kyle, played here by actress Anne Hathaway, navigating the steps with stiletto heels that, on closer inspection, turn out to have serrated edges capable of leaving nasty claw marks in a fight. She also wears high-tech goggles that, when not in use, flip up and resemble feline ears.
So it seems Selina Kyle is in cahoots with Bane, almost acting as one of his minions, at least at one point in the movie. Also, Bruce Wayne is a hostage (does Bane know his true identity?) and why are the citizens all sitting together behind barb wire? Throw those questions in with the images we’ve already seen, such as Bane and Batman fighting on the stairs and Catwoman on the Bat Pod, and the mystery gets even murkier.
Also of note in that paragraph is the description of Kyle’s heels. Does she use them in the film or are they just practical for a woman posing as a Cat? Here’s what Hathaway said:
I love the costume. I love the costume because everything has a purpose, nothing is in place for fantasy’s sake, and that’s the case with everything in Christopher Nolan’s Gotham City.
There’s more from Hathaway talking about her preparation and inspiration for the character at the Los Angeles Times story.
How do you think these new wrinkles fit in with what we know?
Well, interesting to say the least. Really intrigued by what Catwoman's character is going to be like. I'm sure she will play both sides as and when it suits her needs
So Catwoman is Bisexual? Awesome.
I thought she was trisexual.
hows that even possible?
Perfect example of quadsexual:
void + HT OC Batman + DX02 + Tumbler + Custom Joker + BB + TDK + TDKR + SSF Forum + lolz cat = way more than quadsexual, that perv
