Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I could frankly care less whether TDKR is a mega financial success, sure it'd be great if it was, but I just care that it's a quality film that lives up to the first two!

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

It's still impressive when a movie makes a ton of money in this day and age simply because there is so much more other items for disposable income to be spent on by the general public then there was just 20 years ago, forget 60 years ago.

Not really. 60 years ago, they didn't have the option of blowing their money on a bunch of other crap. It says more about a film when people are spending crucial money needed for food or clothes on movie tickets to participate in the experience. You and MF need to head to your local JCs and take a couple courses on American History. You two are looking more like the dumb blonds on Leno's pop quiz segments who think Asia is the biggest country in South America, than the smart nerdy geeks you're supposed to be. :lol

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Not true if you are talking worldwide gross as Thor and both Ironman films have made well over 400 million and Captain america has made 370 million.

I wasn't talking worldwide. :wink1:

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Box office wise, I don't think TDKR will come close to TDK or Batman 1989 but I would imagine it'll make more than Batman Begins.

I'm betting it will make atleast 400 million. Even more worldwide.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

The Hollywood Reporter claims that TDKR director Christopher Nolan screened his first, rough cut of his final Batman film for Warner Bros. execs in Burbank today, including studio film boss Jeff Robinov and production president Greg Silverman.

"The movie doesn't open until July 20, but Nolan has allowed himself plenty of time to fine-tune the movie as he and the brass see fit," said THR. "Sources say Nolan has been a fixture on the Warners lot over the past few days after finishing a months-long shoot and editing process."

My feelings as well. It's critical and financial success is of little importance to me, I'm in it for one person in the end, me. I just want it to be good. Begins wasn't this uber success, it simply did well with a humble profit and I loved it regardless. If TDKR is more like that then good.

What's with all this talk of the story and ending? I've been looking around on sites and people seem to speculate and act like they know damn well what the conclusion of the film is going to be. It's always backed up by "sources". I've gotta assume that it's all BS. It's sort of annoying seeing fans discuss things as if they're 100% fact when the information hasn't been revealed anywhere yet and the movie isn't even out. How can you discuss themes and stories when we don't even have a plot synopsis yet?

I know during the pre-TDK days that the ferries and interrogation scene was heavily spoiled prior to the film with a lot of people knowing what was going on, but nobody knew about Batman taking the blame, or what would happen with the ferries or anything revolving the Prewitt building sequence or Two-Face. How is this any different?

Yep, saw this too. It's basically done. 4 more months of goodies like posters, promotional clips and trailers and then it'll finally be here.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Yeah I honestly think there's pleeeenty of surprises in store, many people on SHH for example act like they've cracked the entire film :lol

Yeah not surprised, shooting finished a good 4 months ago

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Ahhhh, SHH. The mental site for aggravated and exaggerated fanboys alike. I avoid that place. :lol

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

So, who thinks Bane will die?

Or will he be left hanging off the side of some building?

Can't wait to see how Joker will be explained away, that won't be in any trailer that's for certain.

It will probably be over and done with this quickly:

"With Joker in jail"

:lol

Bane will be defeated by an organic Batarang.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Oops, I forgot the spoiler tag didn't I?

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

No.

He'll be defeated by a newly developed batclaw, you know, so Batman can snap that mask off his face.

Simples.
