Re: The Dark Knight Rises

^ You know way too much about this movie already. Your expectations are too high. Ween off.

Rules broken by Bane:
Main villains should never have to wear disguises (undermines their strength)
Main villains should never use microphones
Main villains should never be smaller than the hero (unless they are a little person by design)

So what is the League of Shadows big beef with Gotham? Is it the only city that exists in the world of Nolan Batman?

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Can we get back to the movie...?

I have some Bane questions for the experts:

What is this get-up? The diabolical Dr. Bane?

Nope. Here's a Ras quote from BB.
The League of Shadows has been a check against human corruption for thousands of years. We sacked Rome, loaded trade ships with plague rats, burned London to the ground. Every time a civilization reaches the pinnacle of its decadence, we return to restore the balance.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

There is nothing outside of Gotham other than the Himalayas and Hong Kong.

That's what the world consists of in this series, Gotham City, Himalayas and China. What else does the LOSers have better to do than attack the only other place that exists in their world? It's gotta be lonely up in those mountains.

It's also worth noting that Rome is mentioned several times in the film despite being a fictional place in the series (Europe doesn't exist). The characters aren't aware that there is nothing outside of Gotham, the Himalayas and Hong Kong. This is why the government doesn't exist in these films and why their law doesn't work like in reality.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Is there a smaller Bane that the movie starts with? Like a Baby-Bane? He looks tiny here.

Everytime i see shots like this showing Hardys size, it makes me wonder how Batman could ever lose to someone like him (movie version) in the first place. That is some serious compromising to stay "realistic".

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Because he's jacked up on pharmaceuticals? :dunno

Be alot easier to buy if he was simply.... BIGGER.

He (Hardy) better be a kick-ass villain in a very fresh and unusual way to pull this off.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

My main draw is to see how Catwoman interacts with Batman right now, at least until I see more interesting footage from Bane.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

That's not even Hardy, that's his stunt double. I was there on set and I don't recall Hardy ever being in the fighting scenes. I could be wrong but I believe it was Bale's stunt double. Batman was basically fighting Batman. :lol

I know the day I wasn't there where Bane is breaking out prisoners from Blackgate and outside of city hall it was all Hardy.

Ya, that pic is both doubles.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Come with me so I can show you Bane size men on PCP (venom :dunno) destroying and laying waste to everything in their path including their own limbs without blinking an eye. :lecture

Maybe Batman might have to take venom himself to beat Bane.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Batman got his ass kicked by the Joker (granted Ledger was taller and larger than Bale at the time). Why would people have a problem with a "little man" being able to take Bruce Wayne out? It appears Bane has some muss kulls, that should be enough. Nobody is really expecting him to lift Batman over his head and break him under his knee are they?

I'm pretty sure there's movie magic going on as well. Bane isn't actually going to be a wee little man like Tom Hardy. He's wearing lifts and everything.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Bluray can also make older animation look like complete crap.

:lecture:lecture:lecture :exactly::goodpost: It did nothing for G.I. Joe.

Why is he doing this? Is there a Prince song I don't know about?

At the end of the first act, he busts out with the WHAM! Rap. :lecture:lecture:lecture

She looks uncomfortable in those pics.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

There are plenty of examples of Blu-ray disks where they halfassed it and the results look like crap. If the Blu-ray publisher grabs the content from DVD masters the results will look like sh-t and they deserve to be flamed.

I guess it all comes down how the source material was produced and how are those sources stored? If Batman TAS was shot using 90's era digital cameras and edited on a 1 inch videotape system then there's probably not much more that can be pulled from that source. If the show was photographed on 16 or 35 mm and the negatives are in good shape then it's absolutely worthwhile to remaster TAS/Superman/B&S.
