Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I can just see Hot Toys making DiFlabio Batman figures of me one day.

Exclusive "geek badge" for the DX Diflabio? :naughty:

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

That depiction is inaccurate.

1. I don't go to conventions

2. I'd never go in a TDK suit

3. I'm about 5 inches taller

4. I'm about 30 pounds thinner

5. I don't wear pants

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I think animation is one of the biggest draws that Blu has, for me at least. It's just so much cleaner and more vivid. I just don't get why WB would release the first 2 seasons of Justice League on Blu, yet they won't give us nice HD transfers of what is both the definitive Batman show and the greatest cartoon of all time. The only reason I'm holding out hope is because I believe this marks the 20th anniversary of either TAS or MotP.

Agreed. Anything I've ever seen animation wise on blu has been stunning, especially when compared to the dvd counterparts.

:lecture

Agreed. I'd love to see all the Diniverse stuff get pristine transfers to Blu and released as proper season box sets. I'd be first in line.

I think you're just looking to throw more cash at Warner Bros. :lol

And yes, 2012 marks the anniversary of the Animated Series. It premiered in 1992. I remember catching it on FOX and being hooked. That was on a perfectly rounded square television set, with grainy cable.

DVD on a current HD television is sufficient. Most of the animation in the Animated Series is wonky to begin with, especially the Joker. Anything more hi-def would definitely bring out the worst of the show's animation.

I'd personally like more BTAS collectibles for the occasion.

Nah Fabio you're wrong, batfan is spot on, you'd be surprised how much juice BTAS still has in it if you saw it in 1080p with a proper transfer

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

The Star Trek TNG Blu transfer is pretty impressive. If they could accomplish something like that by making new masters of TAS I'd love to see it.

My animation teacher worked doing lip-sync on the Joker on BTAS. She said it was a ____ing nightmare. :lol

Still, I love BTAS more than any other incarnation of Batman.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

BTAS I don't think can be transferred to 1080p as it was still traditionally done with paints stills etc. MOTP however, is a film so there's a 35MM print that can be transferred into 1080p. Somewhere :lol

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Always MOAR, MOAR, MOAR. I'm sick of everyone's pursuit of trying to have the best thing possible. Nothing is ever enough.

I own blu ray, have some of my favorites in that format, but there's no way in hell that an animated feature, even as one as close to my heart like BTAS would look any better. It's almost like getting comedies in blu, it's like, what's the point?

Something recent like a computer generated film like Toy Story 3 or Ratitouille? Yeah, I can see that. But a show from 1992? What more can be done? The clarity is good enough. Those DVD sets are perfectly fine.

Always gotta push that envelope, don't we? BTAS would suffer from a higher definition format. Trust me. I know the show like the back of my hand and the animation would suffer. I don't even think it could be done.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Hell, I don't even care about season sets, if WB could just mark the occasion with the complete series on Blu (sort of like what DiFabio posted, but on 'roids):lol, I'd be a happy camper. I 100 percent agree, however, with DiFabio's sentiment that we need more TAS merch. I could definitely get behind some high end 20th anniversary 1/6th figures from SSC or HT.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I have that BTAS boxset. The picture is already pushing it being transferred into widescreen dvd. It will look WORSE on blu.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Also, what's it matter if they put it on Blu? If you're perfectly content with your DVDs, noone is telling you that you have to have the Blus, but what does it hurt to have the option for those who do want it on Blu-Ray?
