Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Sometimes it's cool, sometimes it's a waste and overdone. Pirates 4 never needed it, it did nothing to change the experience, I saw it in theaters both ways. Avatar was great, it really submerged you into the movie and took you into that world. That's when 3D works for me. Sadly, studios and filmmakers only picked up on the 3D gimmick as working without really understanding why it worked and have gone to the extent of making everything 3D. It worries me that TV makers are even supporting it, I would like to see it fade out like it did in the 80s. My worry is that overtime, all things could be projected in 3D, and it's neat and all, but I don't want to spend all my time wearing stupid glasses or whatever, most times it's a wasted technology.

100% agreed on Avatar. Very important to the overall feel of the film. All others, nah.

Pure coincidence, but I find that the even numbered years are the best ones for movies of late, 2008, 2010, this year's shaping up real well. There's been some hits in the odd years, but overally, I find more movies over the whole year that I enjoy in the even years.

2008 was historic for me. Rambo, TDK, Incredible Hulk, X-Files. Those were the ones I saw in theaters.

Other movies that came out that year that I really like, Iron Man, Quantum of Solace, Transporter 3, 88 Minutes.

Hehe interesting points. As of late i'm thinking it may not be a coincidence after all. :lol

Damn straight man. :hi5:

I'll be there for this too! :lol

Just eager to get my midnight seats booked. Imagine they won't be around as long as the TDK ones were.

You know, the AMC theatre in Universal just didn't do it for me. They of course have an IMAX in town but I couldn't be bothered.

We watched it in IMAX at the mall and the next day we were on a plane to Orlando. What's the deal with your family, do you guys go every summer? :D

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Hopefully the trailer shows up for everybody before the Avengers. When I went to go See TinTin, The Hobbit Trailer wasn't in front of it for me.

Also, back in July when the Teaser trailer for TDKR came out, a couple of my buddies went to go see Harry Potter and it wasn't in front of it.

Me and a friend went in 2008 to coincide with a holiday and my missus has never been so we are going this year. :duff

Nothing surprising there. Was anyone not expecting it? It's about damn time.

May is going to be exciting.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

So I watched TDK yesterday again for the 100000000,00000001 time, and I noticed something cool. Maybe its a coincidence, but when bruce goes to fox asking him for a new suit, fox says it should do fine against cats. Maybe its a little subliminal message for rises? because I'm sure they had some sort of idea for rises when they made the dark knight.

I remember the 14th of July when I saw it, I gave a little review. That was one of the first things I mentioned. That cat comment/beat. Most thought it was just a throw away comment, but I always thought it was a nod or wink to Catwoman.

Not because of an idea or reference to use her in a future film, but a nod to the character in general.

But yeah, it was clearly a reference, lambo don't know what you were smoking while watching the first 10000000,00000000 times, but I noticed it the first time too

I agree with Fabio, it was clearly a reference but I don't think they knew they'd use catwoman in the next film at that point

Jye cat injected me with phycotrophic hallucinogent, so I didn't notice it the first couple million times I watched it.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

:goodpost::exactly::goodpost::exactly:

A buddy and I are driving 2 hours to the nearest IMAX theater for the midnight show, we're getting tickets as soon as they go on sale.

Awesome. I'm flying 4,500 miles to mine. :lol

Hope I can snag some. Had no trouble with TDK ones but these will go a lot quicker I imagine. :(

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

lol Lambo

So, who wasn't going to the Avengers midnight show before the trailer announcement but is now?
