Considering The Avengers is the greatest blockbuster of the last 10 years, I can say the problems are moot.

And what do you mean by blockbuster? A film that makes a ton of money and breaks records? I'll take a film without problems over all that nonsense.

Redundant means "meaningless." Oxymoronic refers to a phrase that cancels itself out. "objective" and "fact" are antonyms, and therefore when used together are oxymoronic. :wink1:

Seriously? Are you cherry-picking definitions of these words that don't fit the context that they are used above?

For example...ONE of several definitions of "objective" (noun) is "goal" (noun). But that's clearly not the meaning in the context above, where it is used as an adjective.

What is the difference between an "objective" statement and a "subjective" statement? Which is more likely to be a fact?

Objective (adjective) and fact (noun) aren't antonyms. They aren't even the same part of speech.

TDK has a ____ ton of problems. And it broke records. It's a summer blockbuster. That's a fact. However, TDK isn't for everyone. The Avengers IS and everyone loves it. It's an amazing feat in filmmaking. A summer film that isn't stupid, doesn't pander, and delivers.

A film without problems has never been made.

The song anything you can do. I can do better really should play when it comes to dc vs marvel movies.

Careful with the absolute statements, it doesn't take much to disprove them. TDK is not without problems, and not everyone loves Avengers.

My friend loathed avengers, he thought it was severely unrealistic because of the aliens. He thought Thor and Hulk was way too "fantastical" and "unrealistic" as well. ('bout _____ slapped him there.)

He's never seen any of the pre avengers flicks though. So saying "everyone" loves it is definitely not true.

Two things...

One: Anybody talking about his?

Batman will not die in TDKR... As some have thought. Or it will not be obvious. Bale is on record saying this is it but he would be up for the challenge of Nolan had another story for Batman.

And a little Bat-Beef.... So his one rule is to not kill anybody.

BB Rolls over police cars. Death likely.

TDKR I would say there is a good chance he killed the hi-jacked garbage truck driver.

He wouldn't run over the Joker but flipped his truck upside down? Again death likely.

TDKR - Blowing up camo tumblers with the Bat - again - death likely.

Just kind of bugs me.

Still love the first two of the trilogy though :D

Everyone who is a human being loves it.

Everyone.

People who hate it, are foul demons from the devil's outhouse. Lower then hell itself.

Everyone I know loves both. And Avengers is not an amazing feat in filmmaking.

I never said TDK doesn't have problems.

Yet both are great movies. One just happened to spank the other at the box office like a redheaded stepchild. :lol

3D and rising ticket prices.

I don't know whether that's just Bale playing devils advocate

I never expected Batman to die in this film, but I've always maintained that its something that could happen, it's within the realm of possible endings the way I see it

Yay!! You're still here!...so you're just selectively ignoring the discussion on the meaning of "objective" (since several have corrected you) and whether or not it's arrogant to state a fact.

Cool.

Opening weekend, and once Avengers is out of theatres, I'll be glad to read your retraction for overall. :wink1: :lol

158M vs 207M

If you count inflation and 3D ticket sells, TDK definitely didn't get "spanked" TDK has had more people in the seats than the Avengers so far.

The Avengers was the hero that Gothamn deserved.

Why is everyone still taking this seriously...haha

I'm not ignoring it. I simply and momentarily forgot what thread I'm in and that the Nolancompoops are in such a deep-squatting phase on the pole with TDKR on the horizon that they pull an Adam Savage:

Key phrase. :wink1: :lol

And it's funny how when TDK was released, things like "inflation" and "Imax mark-up" were irrelevant but suddenly now, like calling TDK a "comic book movie" are suddenly, and quite hypocritically important.

A summer blockbuster, mass produced, made for everyone, that wasn't retarded! :D

The last one I could think of that did this was probably Star Trek.
