I think that Daniel's DH 1 sculpt with the right paint on the right body is still the best option out there:exactly:

Daniel's is amazing! I think his head and bros production are the best John Mclanes.

I think besides the cross-eyes, the virtual toys Hartigan is also a great Willis.

The only problem with the Dirty Johnny heads, at least as far as DH1 customs are concerned, is the hair. There's less of it and what is there is too long. The follicular Gods weren't very kind to Mr. Willis between '90 and '95.

Other than that, though...it's by far my favorite Willis sculpt. The paint is amazing.

Seems like his hair was a little spikier in the film, and the sculpt could use a little more forehead maybe....but it def owns, yes.

Are these things seriously $200+ now? Seems like they were $100 when they landed. I knew I shouldn't have dicked around and pulled the trigger while I had the chance...

I only have the Sunohc head unpainted but I really like it. I agree, the paintwork will make all the difference.

That Bros one looks amazing too -- I almost pulled the trigger -- but I only want a DH1 McClane and the hair thing just wasn't right for that. I hope to get a paintjob on Daniel's that will rival the Bros work.

I also have an old Kuato sculpt from about 3 years ago which I really liked, but times have changed and even though its a terrific sculpt with some excellent paintwork from Les it just doesn't hold up to Daniel's recent effort. It also has a sculpted neck so with the new HT bodies it would require some serious work to make it fit. I opted to go ahead and get Daniel's after much deliberating.

I posted this in the customs section, but thought I'd share it here as well.

Die Hard

Couldn't find a Die Hard thread, so I thought I'd make one.

For a few months now, I've been in a Die Hard mood. I've been watching the films and actually bought a ____ty game to play, Nakatomi Plaza (which isn't tooo bad I guess).

So I'm thinking, when are we going to get some more Die Hard merchandise, what have we gotten so far and would anyone be interested? Hot Toys versions? New NECA versions? Anyone?

I went back and have bought a few things, specifically the Palisades Toys' Die Hard Palz and they're pretty great. My favorites are Karl, Ellis and Hans. I thought about tracking down the NECA McClane, but there's a reason I passed on it a few years ago. :monkey4

I've seen the "Dirty Johnny" figure and while I love Die Hard With a Vengeance, I'd prefer some classic 1988 Die Hard instead like McClane, Hans, the terrorists etc.

Re: Die Hard

One of the great, all time action movies in my opinion. I have several of the Palz figures, and this is my favorite:

I was interested in the Dirty Johnny figure, but couldn't justify the cost. It would be great if Hot Toys will pick up the license to do a couple figures down the road, but I'm not holding my breath on that one.
