Cage is confirmed recently saw a interview where he said he's not in it he hasn't seen a script yet.

I was wondering about Weathers. Did he really turn down an offer or something. I don't think he's that busy is he :lol
Very excited to see Ford in this and looking forward to the action.

He wanted 7 figures for a montage scene in Balboa. You can bet with Stallone's "Apollo Greed" tweet, he's likely not really a consideration for Expendables, unless he suddenly has a bout of humility.

The man did GI Joe Retaliation, let's not pretend he has standards.

:exactly::goodpost:

Seriously Kurt Russell needs to be in this!!! He is one of my favorite actors and he has been in so many awesome movies! Plus it would be cool to see him and Stallone together again after Tango and Cash. I mean he was pretty old when he did soldier and he still kicked some arse!!! Escape From New York, Big Trouble Little China, The Thing, Stargate, Deathproof, Tombstone, Backdraft, Captain Ron, haha! I would actually be interested to see Tom Cruise in this after seeing him in the last Mission impossible and also Jack Reacher, he could totally pull off a good roll, especially as a villain.

Russell turned down the offer of a role in Expendables. He doesn't feel he's at the point in his career where he "needs" to do "ensemble films."

My brain hasn't been switched on since the summer of 2004, and even then it was in a low-power mode. I should have found Ex2 to be a riproaringly hilarious rollicking adventure. :lol

:lol I could really do with that metaphorically speaking. But still. Move Statham aside and give another vintage action guy his role.

For me, Statham and Stallone are what make these movies work, their relationship is very entertaining and their solo adventures are the most fun too. The ensemble is great and including guys like Arnie and Willis is a nice touch, but at the end of it all, it's these two who are the focus and what makes the films work beyond the gimmick of 80s action greatest hits actors all in one movie.

Wouldn't work. The whole point of the franchise is bridging the 80's machismo with the 90's+. So in that vein, Statham is as crucial to the structure of the films as Stallone is.

It is? I didn't get that memo.

Really? You didn't like their play? Hmm. I think they're two of the most enjoyable to watch

I agree. I like the way they rif on each other. Making fun of their age and such. Cracks me up.

I hope Cage and Gibson go full on bat**** crazy.

:lecture....could you imagine...:horror

Its just not what I ever dreamed about when I envisioned all the classic action men together in one film. Statham didn't come along till the 2000s. I somewhat resent him being in with this lot. I'm sure he's a great action man and all but I have zero nostalgia associated with him. I wouldn't have minded if his was Jet Li sized role.
