I just hate how HD remakes (in general) try too hard to differentiate themselves from the original releases. I'd spent hours on FF X (although I never finished it :lol), and I'd have to say, that the soundtrack really added to the experience and overall enjoyment of the game. So, it's going to be weird hearing the classic tunes of FF X being remixed.

But, regardless, FF X is a fantastic game in the series. Which part are you up to, Ryan?

I'm hours after the first Blitzball tournament in Spira, at the bit with the Chocobos I think. I was trying so hard to win the Blitzball match since Tidus and Wakka were so looking forward to it.

As for HD remakes trying too hard to differentiate themselves, yes I totally agree and it sticks out like a sore thumb in FFX but you'll just have to get over it after a few hours. It's not easy & I'll be forthcoming and let you know that the new character models aren't pleasant to look at plus the music will irritate you at least once. I'm just glad they didn't change the VAs as well like that truly satanic Silent Hill collection. :lol

oh man, you're only just getting started! The Blitzball tournament was fun. I remember that my team eventually got so strong in the mini-games, that I'd score goals from way across the map :lol. But, I wonder if Square changed it around or anything.

As for what you mentioned, I guess I'll reserve judgement until I finally play it then. I'm also reminded that I still need to start a new game of Kingdom Hearts HD, since my old PS3 died along with all of my saved data :slap.

I was wondering, anybody here has the Kotobukiya Yuna? I was thinking of getting one but I'm not sure if it's truly in 1/6 scale.

This is not the right thread to post this but since we don't have a dedicated FF thread, Hear ye- all you PSN members take note that Square Enix is having a sale now. All FF games are discounted including FFVII, VIII and IX at $4.99 each. I'm downloading them all now just to play on the Vita. :yess:

That's a good deal, but I already bought all those on PSN about 3 years back. I don't regret it though.

Good stuff. Seems like the perfect time to pick up FF VIII.

I just bought VII, VIII, and IX. Well at least now I know I can play them anytime and anywhere I want. :yess:

You shouldn't. :)

I've never beaten VII and IX, how long does those two take?

I've played through VII plenty of times now, but my first playthrough was 42 hours roughly. For IX my first playthrough was about 38 hours and VIII was 34 hours. I think the length is perfect because it's not too long for replays.

Anybody getting this on PS4? Apparently, the original PS2 soundtrack will finally be an option in the game, that alone is worth the price for me. :yess:

I did but never beaten it because I didn't liked the new soundtrack. The reinstated music is why I'm getting this on PS4.

I have a PS3 copy of this that I never even opened :lol. I loved the original music from FF X, so I'm glad that I'll be able to enjoy it whenever I pick up a PS4 (sometime next month, in time for Arkham Knight).

I would sell it and get the PS4 version instead as there's nothing in the PS3 version that isn't in the PS4 version. Well, except that postcard sized artbook.

I already pre-ordered the North American Limited Edition, not sure what warrants the "Limited Edition" tag though. :lol

Will do :lol. I couldn't care less for the Art Book, as I already have Yoshi taka Amano's "Sky" collection with the art works from FF X.

That original soundtrack is definitely a big plus for me. The music was one of the most memorable things about FF X.

I have it ordered for PS4... I have copies on PS2, PS3 and Vita... Most of my cross-gen play was on the Vita. I have the Platinum trophy and are up to about 250 hours, currently occasionally playing it, clearing unneeded +1 nodes etc, and trying to raise my HP up just for kicks..

Just got the Limited Edition PS4 copy, which actually no more than the game packaged with a calender, which is really cool and all but I wouldn't bother since the outer cardboard box is flimsy and it doesn't come with any other bonuses.

Fired up the game and at first glance, there were several differences compared to the PS3 version:

1) Load times are significantly faster.
2) The game runs at 1080p with anti aliasing, something which the PS3 1080p option didn't offer.
3) The game uses a different shader than before, everything looks much more defined and detailed.
4) Animations and menu navigation are smother at a locked 30fps.

Although I have yet to see this myself, I also saw videos online where the geometry and character models are fixed or increased in polygon count. But the best addition of all is the original PS2 soundtrack is now selectable in the menus, which is (IMO) way superior than the arranged music of the previous release. The overall visual upgrades are noticeable, and the whole game "pops out" much more than ever before. It's quite the visual treat.

Overall, I would say get this game you haven't and if you already have it on PS3/Vita, it's a worthy upgrade should you decide to double dip. The overall stability of the picture makes me wish that all PS3 HD collections were ported to PS4 as well. :drool

Bought the PS3 version last year but I might end up getting the PS4 version anyway.
