Just stumbled upon this thread. Geez that clint i posted was a looong time ago. :lol I actually have a few on my shelf now waiting for a repaint so ill post those soon. Lonnies really is the best option i think as far as Clint likenesses. Rainmans is good but i think what makes it stand out is the clothing. The Sculpt could be tweeked a bit more and it would be dead on imo.

Well when you finish one you'll get to see the Rainman clothes with the Josh Small paint and the Lonnie sculpt ;-)

That reminds me - I have to get a Van Cleef from Lonnie and get it off to you as well.

Well I think there is no much difference between BillyB Shirt, and rainman´s shirt. Is just a question of preference, but I like very much billyB´s one.

The trousers that rainman´s did for blondie are denim dark blue, but I think you can see clearly in ever still they are black, always black, and the poncho...well I prefer mine ( ;) ) and finally I could offer a better price and every single one that have my poncho is simply happy with the result. (I sell it but I still offer the pattern of the poncho and in a close future the pattern of the sheepskin vest too for free, just email me) I mean...now we can custom a blondie with all the pieces I mentioned some post before.

Rainman´s works are pure pieces of art that’s undisputed, but in this case, and watching the impressive high quality and pretty detailed figure of Van Cleef, I think he is able to offer something better for blondie, maybe in a future. I mean, from his version of blondie I would buy just right now, holster, rigs, spurs, boots and gun because all these pieces are the better ones I ever saw after looking for many different sites.

I´m agreed with Josh about Blondie Lonnie’s head and the paint work of himself and pacobird, maybe pacobird version would just looks a little better with the idea of a dusty bounty hunter.

Please everybody understands this just an opinion with all my respect for everybody I mentioned.
;)

Your custom rocks litial. You have every right to be proud of it. I respect your opinion, but I believe Rainman's poncho texture is perfect, and his sheep skin is great too (way better than I could ever custom). I'm still undecided on which headsculpt takes the cake though.

Yes the texture of rainman´s poncho likes me so much...I´m working of that and I will update it for sure.

The place for doing this pieces I found now use fabrics of all textures and colours and it´s almost 3 times cheapest than the first place that I found so...the best is coming soon.
;)

Well I got the rainman version but I have a fair bit of the parts for a custom blondie - so I look forward to seeing what you produce. I wouldn't mind having two blondies - maybe get a horse for one and leave the other on foot ;-)

I agree about the look. But I'm not so interested in resale value as I want mine to be representative of Rainman's work. I don't buy a painting and add my own touch ups.

I completely understand your reasoning and didn't mean to imply you were interested in resale value, and I never mess with other people's art either.

Actually, I don't even know what you ordered from Rainman. Were you one of the lucky few who's getting a complete figure? If so, then I would be thinking the same way you are. I only managed to order one of the clothing sets, so at the moment I'm looking at it from the perspective of the Blondie I want to build. I'll wait till I have it in hand before I actually decide to do any weathering or not.

after getting a taste for rainman's work with this blondie set, my hands are starting to tremble. at first i thought at that price i should only get blondie - coz he's the iconic one. but now i'm thinking i want tuco and angel eyes too. i guess hot toys stuff is out the window for a while. have to start saving for rainman...:sick

I was inspired to re-watch "For A Few Dollars More" after the release of this figure. It is my favorite movie of the trilogy, and all of you should watch it if you ordered Rainman's Van Cleef or Eastwood figure.

We should be calling Rainman's Eastwood figure Manco. That was the name he was called in the third film.

I wish Rainman would release an accessory pack with more of his great weapon sculpts. Col. Mortimer (Van Cleef) carried several specialized weapons in his bounty hunter bags. And the pocket watch that plays music for the final duel would be sweet.

It was always extremely hard for me to pick my favorite out of the 3 Man With No Name movies. I always liked calling him just that too - The Man With No Name. Nothing cooler than that. Manco is pretty cool due its meaning, and Blondie, I've always disliked that nickname.

My favorite of the trilogy by FAR is GBU. I like that , then For a Few Dollars More, then A Fistful of Dollars. a Fistful of Dollars is the weakest IMO mainly because the dubbing is SO excessive, and the fact that it is a scene for scene copy of "Yojimbo".

forgive my ignorance, but what does manco mean? (i know what it means in japanese and it ain't flattering :lol)

for me too, has to be GBU. can't remember the plot for few dollars more. need to pick that one up again. i remember fistful of dollars, because like reinhardt says it's a remake of yojimbo which i loved. and i actually saw "last man standing" with bruce willis and christopher walken before i saw fistful of dollars.

It means "one armed" in Spanish. Because he does almost everything with his left hand only.

yeah, last man standing was a pretty weak remake. :lol

Manco also refers to the fact that Eastwood does a lot of stuff in the film using only one arm, including laying a beatdown on a bounty he is tracking. It is not really explained, but he does wear the leather brace on the hand he only uses to draw his gun.

Few Dollars more is basically a revenge tale starring Eastwood and Van Cleef as bounty hunters. You can never have enough bounty hunters!

Edit: Reinhardt beat me.

Now that we have Manco and Col. Mortimer from Few Dollars More, we need El Indio to complete the final duel scene. Then we need a Blondie to go with Angel Eyes and Tuco.

Six figures that cost almost six figures. :lol
