I wish you all could see the tiny details. The eyes are just creepy--so lifelike, and EXACTLY like David Wenhem's! And the hair and beard color! There are about 10 different shades of color in them, and it's so natural I almost died of joy. This sculpt really is THE BEST I have ever seen, and Les really made that visible. The hair is the best 1:6 hair I've seen now that Les has painted it. And that beard! It's soooo perfect! It's such an amazing light beard, a little more than stubble but not a full beard. Just amazing. I doubt anybody could or can ever do a better job. I am so grateful and honored to have this in my collection. It's the most wonderful figure I'll ever own.

Les is simply an angel--I wish you all knew just how kind and generous he is. He listened to all of my input, and made it even better than I could have dreamed. Thanks Les!

Anybody who had a wait list convert for Faramir get a shipping notice or charge yet? I haven't heard anything in over a month.

I had my waitlist coverted on June 22 to a real order, and it had been at "order placed" for over a month, until I spoke to a customer rep yesterday. Apparently the person who manually fills the orders simply overlooked it. Faramir is finally at "shipping soon".

From all the complaints about this figure, I hope I get one with a nice clean paint job.

so if we want it to look like yours we should just ask for a "Captain Faramir" paint scheme?

Wow, that looks 1000x better. I am incredibly jealous.

Looks great Capt.

Congrats on such an awesome figure. I just wish your closeups weren't out of focus. Could you elaborate on the input you gave Les?

EDIT: Just found the closeup pix in Les' custom thread. Beautiful work.

I was incredibly specific (Les is SO patient) and was very careful about what reference shots I gave him. I have a very very refined sense of how Faramir should look, and I tried to convey that to Les to get not just the Faramir I wanted, but the best, most accurate and true representation of him there is. I sent only the images that showed him at his best, and some pics to show colors, others to show skin tones, and others that showed how his beard or eyes were. Then, I was very careful to make sure he had fair, clean skin (really, part of his look is generally being a bit cleaner than, say, Aragorn), and much, much lighter hair--and red, not brown or blond. He did a ridiculously good job--if you can see in the pictures, there are more then 10 shades of color in the hair, and it looks REAL--the sculpt is just insanely perfect, and Les made every strand look like it was actually falling naturally. Just crazy. I also wanted the expression right--not angry or intense, because that's not Faramir. It's a calm, gentle tone, with eyes that look and see deeper than most. I, of course, sent a million pages of little things--how the eyebrows are, how the colors work, how the hair should be--and the miracle is,

HE FOLLOWED EVERYTHING AND MADE IT EVEN BETTER!!!

I mean, that's just crazy! The poor guy went through pages of notes and pictures I sent, and the result was EVEN BETTER THAN I EXPECTED!!! It's so wonderful. It really is a tiny Faramir sitting on my shelf. Les is simply the best. I don't think I'll ever see a better Faramir.

One of the neat little tricks that Les did (I'll never know how on earth he did it) is make the beard look different depending on the light--sometimes it looks thick, in other light it's just a shadow. It's so lifelike it creeps me out, and he made the colors of the skin and hair match so beautifully that it really looks like he's growing hair. Oh, it's just so gorgeous--my heart nearly breaks with joy every time I look at it. I have never been so filled with satisfaction with a figure in my life. It's pure, utter satisfaction--or better said, it really fulfills everything I could have desired.

Thank you Les.

:lol :lol :lol

You're to funny Cap.

I have to say Les did a phenomenal job!!! Looks 1000x better than mine does.

Congrats Cap, if anyone one deserves a Les painted Faramir its you.

Those shots are AWESOME! Shows what a little location scouting can do for a figure!

And Cap....what can I say? I am very flattered at your very kind words about my work. Glad I could make you so happy.
Keep him in good stead, my friend!

Man JB those are some beautiful shots. Those shots actually look that they were taken in middle earth. Brilliant job as always. These are just making me want my hobbits even more!

Can somebody tell me what kind of body is Faramir´s one? I mean, DID, Hot Toys...? and what model?

I´m gonna try placing a head I purchased on that body and need to find the proper clothes that will fit it too.

Thanks!

Oh, I didn´t know Sideshow owned its own type of body, I thought it was a Hot Toys or Dragon body.
Then I won´t know if the clothes will fit it until I buy them. The clothes I am looking for aren´t the Faramir ones, I gave up on my Faramir figure because I cannot paint it as I would like (specially after seeing the great job on your Faramir, Capt) and the clothes aren´t on ebay anymore so I would have to get a full one.

So I was gonna place a DID head I bought onto that body and make me a custom soldier with a Sean Bean head I found.
