I love the unapologetically over-the-top actions of the heroes in these movies. Any time an action sequence begins in a PJ Middle-Earth movie I know that chances are I'm going to see some of the craziest and most inventive action and stunts I've ever seen.

Standing on heads, sliding on things, surfing on things, riding crazy creatures, all of it. As far as I'm concerned PJ never over does it so bring on whatever crazy things we'll witness in TABA. :rock

Hell, look at some of the crazy stuff Indy or James Bond can do. Action movies are suppose to be crazy at times.

Movie is awesome, can't wait for my second viewing on Tuesday.

Just to drop in regarding the Gandalf and Sauron reaction. Maybe there is something happen in the 3rd part that makes Gandalf think that Sauron is defeated. Which is the reason for the surprise reaction on FotR? Just my opinion guys.

There had better be a scene of

Saruman, Galadriel, and Gandalf driving the Necromancer from Dol Goldur.

Which would take care of the scene you want to see.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that I saw it in 3D hfr. It was fun, but I prefer traditional 2D at 24 fps.

I'm seeing it next time this way so I'll let you know which I prefer. Usually 3D is darker, but with the 48fps 3D is was very clear and bright.

Just got back from seeing it. Much better than the first one. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I don't think it's a spoiler so i'll ask here. Anyone else think when we first see Legolas that he looked totally different than the trilogy? I would say it was because he aged but further in the movie he looked more like the Legolas I am used to. May see it again next weekend.

Absolutely loved this flick! Much better then the first installment. Even though the movie was close to three hours I was actually bummed when it ended. Left me wanting more. Tauriel was such an awesome character. Legolas used to be my dude but definitely enjoyed his female counterpart so much more. I can't wait for this to come out on blue ray. This movie will watched repeatedly in my household for years to come

I thought his contacts are far more noticeable now than they were in the old films.

yes true. The only big disappointed I had with this film was that Sebastian the Hedgehog didn't make a return, he was a great character in the first and was looking forward to seeing his return. :(

I believe we shall see that in the next movie for sure. At least according to what Christopher Lee said in a recent recording he did.

I hope they do that.

if I remember correctly, isn't it Gandalf send Radagast to inform Galadriel before he enters the fortress?
