People get confused between the cgi and 48fps.
48 presentation does take you out by making the sets and makeup stick out like a sore thumb.
That being said, the 48 is not leaving as bad a taste in my mouth post viewing as I thought it would.
Cgi was spectacular in this movie, everyone talks about Smaug but how about all all those cgi coins and treasures!
