People get confused between the cgi and 48fps.

48 presentation does take you out by making the sets and makeup stick out like a sore thumb.

That being said, the 48 is not leaving as bad a taste in my mouth post viewing as I thought it would.

Cgi was spectacular in this movie, everyone talks about Smaug but how about all all those cgi coins and treasures! :panic:

Totally incorrect in everyway. :lecture

well, in my opinion, the CGI effect at smaug vs dwarves & Bilbo is pretty shady... especially the one when Smaug getting poured with sea of gold...

but anyway, it's great movie. my only complain, beside CGI, is Smaug-battle was too long, while spider-scene & jailed-in-elf-castle was too short... I already expected that Smaug vs Lake City happened in this movie, damn you Jackson!

and boy, Legolas was GODLIKE in this movie :rotfl

*sorry for bad english

I was a bit disappointed when I saw this one. I liked the first one, but this wasn't quite like it. Perhaps too much elves (though you might like Evengeline Lilly), who stole screentime from IMO more important characters and events. There was other thing as well related to the 3rd act of the movie, but perhaps I save that later since it is quite heavy spoiler material. Many haven't seen the movie yet.

I would give this 3/5, because it's not a bad movie as such but I think this had more unnessary filling and characters than the first one.

Well the Elven scenes seemed too short to a lot of people. Also they elves are important to the story later on.

The Tolkien uber fan from my job I had mentioned esrlier said the studio ruined the story of the Hobbit due to their greed.

He said it actually angers him that someone like me who has never read the books likes the movie. :lol

I tend to roll my eyes a bit when people say that. :slap

Someone should just go for a straight up Tolkien adaptation as strictly as possible with minimum filler. Sure it wouldn't make money but I wanna see someone try. :cuss
