there are some similarities yes.
But I am not dumb enough to think they are the same person I don't know if people that think they are the same guy just don't pay attention or what...
But I would never confuse the two of them.

Luke Evans looks older and has more of a rugged look

No, I don't think it's a spoiler. We know Smaug is in it so all is well. There were a couple cgi fixes needed but as a whole I thought it looked just fine.
