Hey Josh, stupid question I know, but is Gollum going to be in this at all?

Probably saving him for the final part huh.

I don't know but its not a stupid question. He might be but it would be something made up to be honest. He could possibly make an appearance in the last film showing him leaving The Misty Mountains to go looking for the Ring.

I'm kind of surprised this wasn't attempted after LotR ended. Why tear everything down? Just recycle.

Well, they didn't think they'd be making The Hobbit anytime soon. The rights to The Hobbit were also a mess so that didn't help.

I would pay to see Sam and his wife get it on :naughty

I saw the Man of Steel in 2D today and also saw the Smaug trailer. I thought it looked great and to me, the elves going through the trees didn't look bad at all. They're elves, they move quick.

While I agree it'll look way better on release and am not worried in the least about it, it's not about moving "quick". It's that the movements don't look natural, regardless of the speed. It's not like peoples' eyes aren't trained by now.

They were on the screen a total of 3 seconds, I guess I just can't see the problem, especially knowing how Legolas moved in LotR. I mean, he could walk ON TOP of snow and climb an Oliphant in seconds. He should be a fairy. :lol

When it comes to observing something, 3 seconds can be a long time. I've seen you use the Oliphant scene before, but to me, Legolas' movements during the entirety of that scene looked natural (i.e., speed is a non-issue) -- unlike the elves in the trees scenes, to my eyes. If they looked natural for you, great (to me they looked disjointed). You don't need to apologize for the effects if you liked them. Obviously lots of other people didn't.
