I just listened to the Neil Finn song and Shores bit which is used during the movie is in the tail end of it. They're sort of similar but what you hear in the movie is not for the most part what's heard in that song.

The melody is used though. Of course it's not exactly the same. But they may use the melody of this new song through DoS.

It's possible but I really doubt it. More likely they'd use a popular or important theme from the movie for the end credit song. Obviously once the actual OST comes out we'll know for sure.

I guess you could say there was some sampling for the credits song. Like I said they're are some similarities but they are also different.

----------------

Another reason I don't think you'll have the same similarities this time is it sounds like this kid just finished the song and shore has already finished the stuff for the movie. Plus they have to have it all ready fairly soon from what was said in the vlog.

Dude, its the theme melody used to carry the song. I'm talking about The Hobbit here, and the Song of the Lonely Mountain. Not this new song, or anything else.
The actual background score in the song isn't really anything, but his voice is clearly singing in the melody of the main theme.

I get what you're saying but they're only similar. It is not the exact same as in the movie. Finn changed some of the melody compared to what was used in the movie. I'm no musical genius but I do trust the number of times I've seen the movie and listened to the OST.

But it's still essentially the same melody. Hum his singing. Lines up perfectly.

Point tis, it's like a James Bond theme. The theme song at the beginning usually guides you though the film. Not just the Bond theme.

That's what I've been saying. They're similar (very similar if that works better for you) but not exact.

Nice vocals. Really like it. But the song itself has a serious lack of instrumentation. Song would be much better with full orchestra in the background playing it up a bit. Doesn't remind me of a boy band like some are saying as much as it does a Tracy Chapman song. I love Tracy Chapman by the way.

So, no reviews of the EE Hobbit. :tap

Did the 13 minutes help or make it worse.

I haven't watched mine yet. :lol

That would probably be in the AUJ thread wouldn't it. :lol

What could've possibly been more important than getting that DVD.

Sheesh, the nerve of some of these so called fans I swear.

:( I ordered it some time back from Amazon. I don't have Prime though so it has to come by pack mule.
