I just saw a TV Spot that showed new footage of Smaug, as well as new dialogue from him. I saw a new shot of his eye close to Bilbo, a shot of one of his legs and hands grabbing onto some architecture, and a new shot of him breathing fire at the dwarves. Maybe more, I can't remember, but it was some of the coolest footage yet!
I for one am glad Smaug doesn't die in this film. I read a review where the writer knocked the film for not killing Smaug and not giving us a Satisfactory ending. It would have been odd to have Smaug Die and then the movie end. A lot of people would be "So, why is there another movie." Since Smaug is essentially the main antagonist of this series it needs to be this way. Also, I feel the third one will be a roller coaster ride. Smaugs defeat, then suddenly the BoTFA starts.

Anyone remember the days before the Internet?
I remember thinking films like "Braveheart" "Dances with Wolves" and others were universally praised. When I started going into movie message forums in the late 90's I couldn't believe that people hated these movies.
I don't even need to read a review! Your sig is enough to make me want to go!![]()
