I'm not reading any of the reviews because the only one that counts is mine on Friday morning. :banana

Am I the only one that likes the new Bolg better? I still prefer using actual people over CGI and the original Bolg was pretty cool, other than the design of his face.

Film is still going to rake in the money Opening weekend and easily crack 1 billion. :rock If reviews are any indication I think word of mouth will help this one for people who might be 50/50. In the end that's why AUJ made a billion is word of mouth from people who spread the word AUJ was a fantastic film.

Edit: plus people will realize this isn't a redo of LOTR but that this film will match closer in tone to LOTR.

I have to admit, when I first heard the token song of this film (Fire in the Mountain) I didn't like it. But the more I hear it, the more it is really growing on me.

That's what I'm thinking.

Opening Weekend I'm guessing 85-90 million and 1.1-1.2 billion total.

Yeah, the billion mark will be achieved through all sales (blu ray/DVD, collectibles, various paraphernalia, etc).

Your figures for opening weekend seem to be good too. We have to remember that it's the holiday season. People spending a lot of money on things other than movies. If it was a Summer release, opening weekend would easily get into 9-figures.

Which soundtrack are you referring to?

Searching 'Fire in the Mountain' kept leading to 'Misty Mountains Cold'.

I can find nobody interested in seeing this with me on Friday. That sucks.

That sucks, I count myself lucky because I have a group of seven friends going on Saturday and on Friday we're gonna watch The Hobbit: AUJ at our library after hours on the 60" flat screen and order pizza.

Most of my friends aren't interested, either. AUJ put too much of a bad taste in their mouth. :(

My friends are the opposite, they're all excited to see the DOS. But they're all into LOTR and The Hobbit.

I just mean 1.1-1.2 billion by the end of its theatrical run. I figure it will end up higher than AUJ. All that other stuff I think will just push the total even higher.

I admit I would be curious to see how these Middle-earth films would do if released during the summer.

Oops. I mean "I See Fire". :lol

I had to warm up to the credit song at the end of AUJ. I like it now but at first wasn't really into it but this one I loved right away.

I'm going to the two films tomorrow by myself then taking Mom on Christmas Day.

Dad and I are going tomorrow and then I'll be taking mom to see it on Saturday.

I like I see fire. Have it on my iPod. I think it fits lotr but whether you don't or do think it does you gotta admit it's a good song.
