Based on the fact that it took less than 10 mins for this to Sell Out with the 1250 Edition Size, if there is a huge percentage of cancellations that means only one thing: too many of us are in this hobby for the wrong reasons.

Not necessarily. As has already been pointed out, many collectors go by the rule that if the ES is too high, it is better to cancel and try to get it later on eBay to save some money. Whether that will be the case here, who can say, but does that make those people any less "collectors"?
