Oops! Forgot to mention I snagged this bad boy with the cube. Debating if maybe getting the regular one would have been better since I like the cane with the display.

Its good to have the option. I sold my standard Cap to ensure funds for this and recently "transformed" my classic WWII Cap to his modern version (That magnet on the arm has me worried a bit though its not as strong as the neck one....) because I think it'll look better when displayed by himself, although he is still standing on the helmet not Ultron. When RS comes in you can decide whether its 1940 or modern times with the switch of the cube or stick and Cap Ex owners can set up whichever they'd like......gotta love the SSC Marvel.
I always wanted to know where people get the high res versions of pictures.
If anybody can, can you find me the better version of this picture? I want to get it to make a background image for my PS3, and Iwould really want the high res version for doing that.

The cube is much better than a hat.
The Red Skull's most famous battle ever against Cap was when he used the Cosmic Cube against him. It's the one defining battle between these 2 arch enemies.
The cap would just cover up the fabulous sculpt on the Skull.

I agree. That hat would have been awsome. I don't think I would ever display him with the cube. The came looks way to cool.

Just hope my waitlist converts once they issue a number....missed out on the EX version of the thing and I'm stuck with an order for the standard one.
Though is this becoming a current thing, as people so far seem unimpressed with Skull's Exclusive Cosmic Cube, and in all honesty the Ex additional open mouthed head for Ben Grimm looked pretty poor, so are Sideshow's Exclusives losing their aesthetic appeal and just appealing to the "rare whore" in us all?

I dont agree on that.Open mouth Thing looks much better than the reg and I would have been pissed if the RS didnt come with the cosmic cube.Its part of the character's history.I thing the Ex are a Big + to dedicate Marvel fans and the reg version are for the occasional buyer with less knowedge of the characters , wich I am not.

That's fair enough, but wouldn't it be far simpler to make one version with the added extras or features rather than a cut down version as well. What I'm saying is why make a standard & Ex version, why not make just one complete statue with a larger ES?
I'm not a dedicated Marvel fan but I generally prefer the way that the Ex's look....but you can't say the Cube with Skull is anywhere near as cool as the Cup with Doom can you? Oh and exactly how many EX purchasers are "dedicated Marvel fans" and not flippers, and how many "occasional buyers" just missed out on the EX....like me?

The Exclusive concept comes from the fact that Sideshow was losing money cause their retailers were selling the item for much less to the consumers.So people were less inclined to buy on-line directly from them..There was a whole debate about this a couple years ago...The Ex editions were created to sell directly to the buyer at Full price but he gains a little extra by doing so.

That's your fault. Don't blame anyone else cause you missed out. The newsletter goes up every week at about the same time. Also, last week there was a preview for the piece so naturally the Skull Ex went up for sale in the next newsletter just like every other piece has before.

Bonehead, yes I missed out but it's not a masive deal.....the secondary market still exists for us "snoozers" as you so eloquently stated.
Shai, OK that's fine Sideshow created Exclusives to give buyers an added incentive to buy directly from them, that's clever business and I can appreciate that but all I'm saying is they don't seem to be trying as hard with some PF's as others....the additional extras with Cap far outweigh the Red Skull's cube, you don't feel they could have added his cap, as mentioned by others or even a green jumpsuit?
