I'm really happy with the Iron Cross . . .
It looks a lot better than I feared and really it's an easy custom if you really want it done . .
I can't wait to see this one in person . . .
I'm happy with the Iron Cross also, lets face it in the PC world we live in theres no way this peice was coming out with a swastika.

It is removable for shipping purposes. If you choose not to display him with it attached, there WILL be a slight hole, but it's very small. It's up to you

Let's face it, Marvel just isn't going to allow a swastika and for good reason.
The 500 ES for the exclusive is just about perfect.
Marvel still shows the Red Skull with the swastika in the books--big deal, right?
Wrong. It isn't one. It's a symbol essential to the character. A symbol stands for something; good or bad, symbols cover all sides of the spectrum. SS choose to switch this symbol for a less offensive one. Good PR move I guess, but I just don't understand why I can see it in the books but not on a statue. The Cross was a symbol as well, the Nazis wore it as well--if the logic with why the swastika is not seen on this PF is consistent, why any symbols at all?
Though I'm bothered by this PC move, I still ordered.

I'm kinda mystified about the censorship of the swastika, as well. If it was mandated by Marvel, I'm surprised they allowed the cigarette; haven't they banned smoking in their comics (and didn't the Logan PF have a cigar)?

Really, the last thing Sideshow needed was to have one of their statues become a neo-Nazi icon. Remember the hubbub over the Mary Jane statue? Over basically nothing? Well, imagine what would happen if some neo-Nazi featured this Red Skull PF on his blog as a must-have item.
So yeah -- it's easily customized, should you wish to have a swastika, but otherwise, there don't seem to be any creative compromises here. And even if you aren't into Marvel, it's a very potent representation of a pretty archetypal character concept.

Regardless of the sleeve, Iron Cross or Nazi symbol I wouldnt be interested in this.. Which is weird seeing my office is adorned w/ skulls..
Just looks like a big doll to me.. Not my thing..
