Take a look at blender if u want a freebie. Pretty amazing program for virtual modeling and sculpting for free. Lots of tutorials too on YouTube to learn.

That's probably a better option for me. I'd like a program I don't have to get invested in and that has easy to understand tutorials. I looked at some stuff online for zbrush and it looks intimidating.

Blender's an amazing program. Possibly the only example of open-source software that can compete with the industry standard - in fact in a lot of places it is the standard.

Some friends twisted my arm into doing Inktober (specifically that I use it to develop my own ideas instead of just doing fan art) even though I don't really upload my work anywhere any more. More DC as and when but I can post these daily sketches if anyone's interested:

I don't know man, maybe I just had a knack for it. 2 weeks in and I'm loving zbrush. I even did a 1/6 scale head for a great artist on the boards here and I'm desperately waiting to see it printed and painted by him.

Not to mention, I'm finally doing what Chronicle is lacking on producing at the moment.

My damn 1/6 Velociraptor! I figured a way to separate each individual joint, just need to add detail which all that really is; is playing with the brushes a bit.

That Raptor looks great! I won't be surprised if Chronicle produces a 1/6 Raptor for their 1/6 line. They know collectors want one.

yeah that raptor looks legit!

not taking anything away from zbrush... it's an amazing tool... just expensive as hell! blender can get you similar results but it is free and always will be... so my opinion is it just made more sense to start learning blender as i'll never drop the $700 on zbrush.

It'll be interesting to see what kind of tone they give the film and the character. Will it be "murderize ya" BvS Batman or "I got jokes" JL Batman?
