:lol Things have been so crazy the last couple weeks that I've been slacking buying myself stuff. I usually get myself a present to open on my birthday since I tell my wife not to bother with a present, and I didn't do it this year. She did get me some Dunkin Donut Munchkins to have with my coffee this morning. Munchkins and a nap later is all I really need to celebrate today. You know you're getting old when one of your birthday presents is a nap. :lol

Ha sounds dreamy actually!
I've been stuck sucking applesauce and mashed potatoes and pain pills since Thur! GD some donuts and coffee sound magical!!

I really miss Dunkin Donuts. The last few times I was there I would only get hot chocolate and a muffin with my wife. I remember as a kid I could clean out a dozen donuts on my own.

Thanks for reviving the birthday thread. :lol

I ****ing love Dunkin Donuts :rock :rock We don't have one here so she had to drive 90 minutes away to get them for me. If that's not love then I don't know what is.

Our DD is literally in view of my front door :lol I live two blocks from the mall.

I legitimately felt really sorry for you about the Leo figure. I know you were super-psyched for for him to come out..... only to find utter disappointment.

I wanted to buy him... but I waited for in hand pics. Not to pour salt in the wound, but I'm glad I did.
you made a wise decision. No worries my friend. My lesson was learned.

Guess I'm out of the loop with this, how exactly did Mondo manage to **** it up? The prototypes looked fantastic...
the production run had broken belts, ugly face seams, poor paint apps, paint rub issues, really looks joints, etc.

Yup! Those repaints we did on those battle shells blow the mondos out of the water for a fraction of the cost!
I still have my custom Leo haha. Was going to sell it but decided to actually display it for keeps. I need to get a tutorial on how you painted yours. Excellent work amigo!

:lol :lol seems like a good day to watch vintage movie and buy a figure or 5.

:lol I successfully made it through the day without buying anything. Though if I could get a 10% off coupon to pop up on the 1:2 scale Prime Superman I'd probably cave.

I saw Alien: Brovenant earlier... wow. Ripley needs to checked for dementia. I don't know why Fox keeps letting this old codger keep dumping his colostomy on this once brilliant franchise. Dan O'Bannon is rolling in his grave.

Much like Prometheus, the idea is far better than it is on screen and the execution was even worse Prometheus.

I can't help but think this was Ridley's Episode I moment. It's not that bad, but it's one of those things that completely changed the entire franchise and cannot be undone. Again, it's got a good idea but it's boggled down by such a sluggish pace and overall boring directing, not to mention CGI from 10 years ago.

Fassbender was good in it though, and I was surprised to actually like Walter... even with his weird flat attempt to sound American.

Maybe I'll warm up to this as time goes on, but maybe not. I liked Prometheus initially but began to feel neither love or hate for it after a few years.

So, I was looking for a great Birthday Zod meme for your facebook profile, and I came across this. Toylion posted this on the Freaks board for you in '15. It was the first choice on google when I searched for Happy Birthday Zod. :rotfl

:lol Every time I see that pic I laugh.

Happy birthday Zod!

That's disappointing. I want to see Covenant, but I haven't been blown away by anyone's review. I may just wait for it to pop up on Netflix. I liked Prometheus when I first saw it, but I fast-forward through lot when I rewatch it. I wish they'd hadn't decided to scrap the Alien 5 film. I liked the idea for the story and characters.

i love prometheus and i wish it was its own thing unrelated to alien.

the idea of creatures from another world creating us was fascinating, david is a great character. the destruction of the human race was interesting
the ideas for prometheus on their own were great. i wish it didnt have to connect with the stupid alien

Covenant had some good ideas and I kinda like what they did with David, but it takes well over an hour for anything of substance to happen in the run time. The origins of the Xenos... I'm not sure how I feel about it, but as I mentioned it's one of those things that now can never be changed as it's canon to Alien and Aliens.

Better than Logan at least, but not by much :lol

And yeah, I hate Alien 5 got torpedoed. The concept art that was shown really made me interested in it. It came off as well thought out sequel, and we would finally be back on Earth IIRC and actually see Weyland-Yutani up close instead of the board meeting in Aliens and just passing comments by characters.

Prometheus's ideas alone make it a better film, and the CGI and visuals as well. Not much of a spoiler, but nothing more about the Engineers is revealed in this one as well... The original script of Pro was so much better as it lead directly into Alien.

i always assumed when I saw prometheus that when they reached the engineer's planet they would either be already dead or the ship would crash on another planet.

For some reason I always assumed we would never see the engineer planet just because there was no way for them to write something good about meeting them, I knew they were going to cop out.

the fact that we did get to see engineers in their planet for a couple of seconds actually surprised me. but i knew they would chicken out of it.

the same way that paul Anderson would chicken out of the cliffhangers he would create for Resident evil. end the movies one way and the chicken out from it.

I really, really hated how they wrapped up what happened in Prometheus... Prometheus stumbled in the third act but I think it really gave a good cliffhanger of things to come... the one in this just made me angry.
