Edition number is NOT the only element that make a collectible item rare but also the AVAILABILITY.

Yeah 1000 may not be very rare in term of numbers but can you find the HULK PF at retail price TODAY? If you find one please let me know.

Same people said Sideshow may only make this 1500 pieces over unknown period of times even with open ES, although I completely disagree with that, but let's JUST ASSUME that is a fact.

Batman PF EX ES is set at 2000 but it was sold out within a week. Compare to Hulk Maquette, which one do you think it's rarer?
Yeah 2000 ES may seem huge but that PF is sold out good luck for a customer who want to pay a retail price for that one after the statue is ready to be shipped.

On the other hand HULK Maquette is ALWAYS AVAILABLE ANYTIME ANYWHERE YOU WANT TO BUY, you just need sideshow account and order it. THAT IS A HUGE DIFFERENCE EVEN THOUGH THEY BOTH SEEM TO HAVE A NOT SO LIMITED ES.

The fact is NOBODY KNOW (including sideshow) how many Sideshow will make this. IT ALL DEPENDS ON DEMANDS. As long as there is still a demand Sideshow will continue making it. They have no obligation to stop making it because THERE IS NO NUMBER IS SET AND MAKE KNOWN TO THE CUSTOMERS.

People who said they will not make this more than 2000/3000/5000 or eventually they will stop making it HAVE NO PROVES. That's all JUST assumptions not a fact. The fact is IM LSF was up for pre-order in 2009 and I believe Terminator Endo LSF has been around even longer.

Now more are out because of the open ES.

I don't know how many out there will be buying this but the average comic book geek IMO will not.

In a few years when they are struggling to capture what they lost they can point to this moment and the bonehead business decisions driving this open ES nonsense.

Course it will be too late then as the writing will be long written on the wall.

They should drop the Collectibles part from their name.

At least I have the Hulk PF's to see what greatness looks like.

that's a good one! Not saying I'm taking sides but it's a great response. I don't believe anyone who hates flippers would sell their grails for retail. They will be sold for flipper prices as well as anyone else would. Well except if there's a great friend who you know very well. Then costs can be had. I love this reply every time I see it. Hell I hate flippers myself for making me pay more, but I will do the same to even out some of my costs rather than keep paying double or triple for statues I missed out on. I already over paid on way too many statues already.

look at hottoys threads man, look how unlimited their number is (5000-20000 units?), price dropping like flies, do u see hottoys collector arguing about limited number on its specific hottoys thread?

no, they argue about how sucks the HS is, how sucks the joints looks.. not the limited number...

I'll have strange avengers setup though. Will have Hot Toys figures except the hulk (tell now he doesn't look good at all) & ordered the maquette instead. Not sure displaying them in one shelf is a good idea, but sure Hulk will look great alone

Back in the 90s, Edition Sizes for statues was around 5000 - 10000. Now people are complaining up the Bats & IVy PF being too high. The market will play itself out. SSC will know when that time comes. Then it should be back to normal again.
