You really expected Hasbro to make Nazi figures? And a Hitler figure? Really? And this is what killed your enthusiasm for the Indiana Jones line? I'm just trying to get my head around that.

Actually yea, yea I did. Excuse me for not seeing history as evil. They didn't need to put swasitkas on EVERY German figure but there are some who actually should have it. Was what happened in WWII wrong - of course. But Indy has always fought Nazi's not random German soldiers and they never shied away from that. As to the Hitler, well with a little inventiveness Hasbro WILL be giving me my Hitler even if they don't know it.

I'm not saying that I have a problem with the concept of a Hitler figure, or of Nazi figures in general. It's the idea that Hasbro would make one that makes no sense. They're not going to want to stir up a potential controversy like that.

No kidding. They'd be crucified and the sales wouldn't even be nearly worth it.

And maybe I'm weird, but I have no problem with any of the German figures Hasbro has released so far.

Damn it, Memnoch21, now you have me defending Hasblo. I think I need to go take a shower. :lol

And that's the idea thats redundant to me. Little plastic men, based off fairly incredible situations, based off mythical objects and real world events, would stir controversy. Would the Hitler figures possibly cause issues? Sure, so do it as a semi hush hush Con exclusive or something. But if we get just a black armband on Vogel - not a happy camper. If anything let them put the armband and just leave a white circle or something.

Memnoch21, your issue is with the overly-senstive P.C. pusskators that hamper today's society, not Hasbro. They couldn't make full-on Nazi figures even if they wanted to.

Sorry Carl, call me weird but the way Hasbro is lately is just leaving me cold. See the above post for me general feelings. But shoddy paint on the first figures, the ridiculous distribution on things, just the overall IJ line isn't really fun to look for.

And a PS: Yea, it could be the overly PC nature of things today. I dunno, guess more people should learn to call a spade a spade when it comes to things that actually took place and stop trying to look through Rose tinted glasses. It's akin to the whole "Commies angry over Crystal Skull". I mean, really? If they are serious then these guys should NEVER have any power whatsoever.

I'm 100% there with ya on the shoddy paint apps on the first several shipments. Beyond horrible.

Add to that the questionable sculpts, which they blamed on the factory. I think it's time Hasbro centralizes it's sculptors because the Indy's do not look like Harrison Ford but some of their Han Solos are really good. Wish they would have just taken a Han head, chopped it and added a hat.

The sculpts on the KOTCS Indy figures are very good and I would even say look more like Harrison than any of the previous Han figures. It's the ROTLA ones that are atrocious.

i agree the indy figures are not perfect. but the articulation is far better than some of the starwars figures.my only problem is please put the yes in the eye sockets..
also most of everyone here probably already read hasbro's response in the fact that george lucas and steven spielberg did not give alot of time for hasbro to plan get figure ready.they were rushed on stuff. But i expect we will see some better stuff coming in the indy's waves later on.
temple of dooms figures are going rock.
then i wonder what there going to give us later in the year because i heard there going to keep doing the line into 2009?

I believe the license extends well past 2009, but they already confirmed there will be additional waves in 2009.

Which right now are the only ones I actually want to buy :lol Problem for me was though I really liked KOTCS, I have absolutely no desire to buy any action figures from it. I'm also slow to get all the Raiders stuff but that's because right now I'm poorer than poor. I guess it's that fact that got me riled up over the whole Nazi/German thing from Hasbro. That and they way it was phrased. Sometimes Hasbro can seem like "hey we are doing you a FAVOR, be happy with what you get." Ya know what, here's the question and answer from Toy News International:

Toy News International said:
TNI: Indiana Jones tends to have a lot of religious and political references (i.e., a lot of characters based on members from the Nazi party). For a toy line geared to kids and collectors alike, how difficult has it been to deal with these issues and yet stay true to what these movies are about. I believe it's been said there is not much chance of seeing a Hitler figure in this line yet we have Nazi soldiers. Where do you draw the line, and how do you draw the line for what's appropriate and what's not for a toy line like this?

Hasbro: The figures we have produced are German army figures, which do not necessarily mean that they are Nazis. We will not produce Nazi figures and have removed all political party affiliations and insignia from the uniforms. We can also confirm that there is zero chance of there ever being a Hitler figure in the line - we just would not go there.

So I wonder who Vogel is if he wasn't a Nazi officer, oh that's right, Nazi's don't exist in Hasbro's fantasy land. :banghead

Well, I found the 1:18 replica INDY Indy car today at Blockbuster. The store got in a total of TWO and there was only the one left when I happened to pop in.

It's very cool (and it looks like it might be pretty limited) but I was a bit taken aback by the price: $39.99 I was expecting something closer to $25. Oh well.

Oh, and they also have KOTCS final Theatrical 1-Sheets for $12.99

Cool! These are going for crazy right now on ebay. Not surprised by the price Die Cast aren't cheap and it says the price online.

If I happen to run across anymore I'll grab 'em for fellow Freaks. Josh is at the top of the list.

:fingers crossed:

That's a pretty good sign. The only Blockbuster I was able to find this at was also the only one that still had some of the DVD cases.
